This would allow those of us who like FFA to have our fun without interfering with the carebears. To avoid abuse, a timer could be imposed on the flag option. I think EQ1 had a system like this.

Is there a reason why not? Its not like this would interfere with ppl who don't want to pvp.

From the ground up EQ2 was only ever meant to be a PVE game,PVP was added at the launch of DoF and it has dedicated servers for it.

You go use the arena's on PVE (good luck with that, noone uses them) or duel and thats as for as i know about it.

If "Decline Duels" is checked in your options then uncheck it.

Problem is that can be turned on and off instantly. By setting a timer on the 'flag' you would force those who want to pvp to remain part of the pvp-world for as long as the timer is ticking. I think if you want to kill other players you should have to open yourself up to being ganked for a certain period of time.

To get want you really want your only real choice is the PvP server.  If there was an open PvP option for the PvE servers then it would kind of defeat the purpose of having seperate servers.

How would it defeat the purpose? PvP servers are 'always on' pvp. The flag option would allow people to do this when they feel like it and it wouldn't destroy the PvE aspects. There is no good reason NOT to have this PvP flag option. EQ1 had something similar what worked quite well, and there were no problems with having separate pvp servers for that game.

I'll say again EQ2 is a PVE game the PVP was always an after thought SOE panicked when they saw how well WOW was doing and threw it into the game, they wont change it now that i'm sure.

I didnt play EQ much tbh but i'm sure the system you talk about had its own problems becuase the devs would,if it were perfect, have thrown it into EQ2 when the PVP ruleset and servers came along.

I dont mean this as a flame but honestly i dont see that you'll get out of EQ2 what you're looking for tbh,you seem to want a pure PVP type game and good luck to you in that but honestly i can tell you a "pure" PVP then EQ2 isnt that game.

As i said, if you want open PvP stick to the PvP servers.  We don't want this PvP shit on the PvE servers, thats why there is a choice.

No, because normal servers are supposed to be free of the attitude that goes along with FFA PvP.

Bitefight links are not referalls, they are the way to gain xp in the game.

No it does not, and i swear you ask this question on every forumn, If this was a game feature to any of these games i would think the answer would be somewhere in the description of the game, try looking in the games list overview, as i stated before the last time you asked this question the only game i can think of that gives you a TEF (temporary enemy flag) is star wars galaxies, rthere may be more but is the only one i can think of, all the other games i have played if that was implemented it would be taken advantage of and exploited because it would cause a flaw in the desighn of the games. And in most games if this was implemented no one would turn ''on'' there flag till they were at capped lvl with really nice gear spells what have you, and if you were a mid lvl to newer player and turned on yer flag you would just get creamed.

when you have a bitefight link to your vampire to bite people the mods will warn you it is a referall link, it is not a referall, it is the way you get xp in the game by bighting people

I think the game you may be interested in is guildwars, it has both pvp, and pve whenever you want it, and neither interfere with the other playstyle,
