Basicly SOE is charging people for ingame items and charging them to play. |

I loved both EQ1 & 2 and I think your idea could work with enough marketing. I have played every major MMO and I agree totally with the state of this hobby. There is one thing that EQ2 lacks that will always be a huge thorn in its side and that is lack of realm vs. realm pvp. I AM NOT a big pvp fan but after playing DaoC and WoW for years I must admit there are a lot (and I mean 100s of thousands) of people who love pvp, especially realm vs. realm. For my EQ2 wish list I want the continent of Velios back. The thing that still bothers me about eq2 the most is its small size compared to EQ1. If you look at places like Everfrost, and Enchanted lands really they are small continents. I have not played the new expansion but it is a good sign, although I must admit my entire guild (we still communicate often) was disappointed that the beastlord and Velious have still not been put back in. I like most of your ideas and I hope that SOE would consider this thread although I am not holding my breath.

I can say that i've played plenty of MMORPG's such as: WoW, Vanguard, LoTRO, EQ2, Guild Wars, and others (lol runescape omg i actually played it). Anyways I began playing it from the very beginning and i'm gonna admit it was an ok game but not great. But i didnt give up and i still played and i have to say, over the years this game has improved DRAMATICALLY. Soloing is much easier, questing is enjoyable, crafting improved A TON, traveling is much easier. Now I can understand that people would like the way traveling is done to change (ex. ships, oceans, etc.) but that would only be enjoyable a couple times, if your like me and you've got stuff to do and not all day, i wanna get to where i'm goin as fast as i can!!! The only problem that i know EQ2 has had from day 1 is LAGG!!!! But that's all Also, even for being a kinda old game, if you turn up the game quality on it...the graphics are still pretty stunning if your computer can handle it. From playing other MMO's then playin eq2 i've never enjoyed the graphics whenever i compared them to EQ2, but i digress...the community is amazing. I've met many of really cool people and made a lot of friends, I really love my guild as well. Also ever since the PVP servers got brought into the game as well as been fixed in many ways, shis game is honestly my favorite MMORPG's of all time, few can compare but they still seem to lack something that EQ2 fills.... P.S. I used to solo and still do at times, but once u meet cool people, u wont wanna solo anymore! |

seeing as how eq1 is far more developed, in all ways, then eq2 and any other game out there, except for the graphics...why not do what your suggesting to it instead? why not just upgrade the graphics of eq1, and start selling just the original cd with its own set of servers?
these ideas will never happen, the player would have to become a ceo and lead dev. |

I ain't entertaining any considerations toward anything SOE is doing, but I am not totally close-minded.
I am definitely unforgiving and ruthless toward any design which displease me. I won't show any tolerance toward raiding enforcement in any form, so...I might as well just say I won't play anything done by SOE I guess; no?
Some of my old suggestion are...suprising me. LOL, to think I WAS that open minded toward raiding. But I learn my lesson, there is no way I let a pig in my house.
The journey is all that matters.
The journey is determined by the path of progression.
If that path lead me to any gameplay that isn't appealing (Raiding/PvP), I ain't playing that game. I wanna group or solo mostly, and this is mostly what I must do at every segment of my progression...and I won't tolerate ANY raiding or PvP anymore. - "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. If a dungeon raid is necessary, there had better be more than one way to complete it. I detest formulaic 'gaming'. I don't want to feel like my group has to be ISO Certified in order to be taken seriously. |

How about... We take EQ2, update the terrain textures. Slap on an engine that performs better than your average Sourceforge java 3D application AND is capable of using our super-computeresque video card hardware. (Instead of trying to do EVERYTHING ON ONE CPU CORE LIKE MORONS)
