Loved this in EQ1 but hated it when they dumbed it down so much. 

It would be really great if there was a series of progressive quests you could complete solo, group then raid before you could get your epic kinda like Epic 1.0.  I know its very EQ1 style but these were some of the things that made the game so great in its early days.

Well, there is the Prismatic Quest and the Heritage Quests just off the top of my head.

Epics are coming with RoK. They have anounced 2 versions for each class.

Well, there is the Prismatic Quest and the Heritage Quests just off the top of my head.

If you ever played EQ1, you wouldn't compare their truly EPIC quests to EQ2's heritage quests. I remember it took me almost 60 hours of playing time to get up to the Fey part of my Druids Epic. And camping that Sea Dragon took literally forever because you kinda sorta had to be put on a "waiting list" just to camp Fey. Back in that day the top guilds respected one another and each server had it's own little honor system when it came to fighting epic monsters..

So, all in all it took me a good 90 hours of gameplay to complete my druid epic.. Now, that my friend is what truly defines "epic quests

Heritage quests are mostly chain quests that u have to wait to do parts of until u reach a certtain level. Take the J boot quest for example. If one waited until level 40 to start the quest, you'd have it finished in a few hours.. Thats not what I'd call an epic quest by any means..
