this was open to everyone to beta during SOE Live

i downloaded the beta files  (change the version in client to beta)


I have only played to level 10 and it was hard to get a feel for the class due incorrect starting gear


channeler is leather priest class that uses a bow

on beta, as a newbie, you start w the gear of shaman (and cant use any of it)

no bow


i did notice one of the early spells was a healing shot - that did dmg and an AE heal

the class looks interesting but I need appropiate gear to use the skills

Channeler class - Dissonance is the equivalent of (Beastlord) Savagery.

  • Has a Construct (golem) pet that can intercept damage. Not fully a pet class.
  • The Construct reduces damage of groupmates, which can be parsed.
  • Construct’s health is based on Channeler’s stats.
  • He can’t die, he just stops absorbing damage at 25%, gets worse at absorbing damage as his health drops. Construct cannot be attacked by mobs, can be in PvP. Cannot be healed by normal meals. Only the Channeler can heal the construct.
  • Construct has 6 appearance slots, 4 ability slots.
  • Channelers can go out in the world and pick up appearances.
  • Construct doesn’t need to be skilled up like Beastlord Warders.

  • A DPS healer class
  • Uses a very unique, new mechanic to achieve healing goals -- a construct
  • Channelers have a special Construct menu with 10 slots: 6 to choose the Construct’s appearance, and 4 for special abilities and buffs
  • These augments can be found in the wild
  • The construct intercepts damage from a targeted player, reducing what the player takes by getting hit itself
  • As the construct's health decreases, so does the power of the intercept, and when its health is below 25% it stops absorbing damage
  • Cannot be targeted or damaged by enemies so it won't die
  • The Channeler will need to use the skills at its disposal to keep the construct healthy and therefore effective
  • Dissonance is the Channeler's resource, and the less of it you have the faster it degenerates. Have too much, and you won't be able to use the Conduit bar
  • Conduit abilities: Repairing the construct, burst healing, debuffs, and other useful spells
  • Primary weapon: Bow
  • Extremely mobile -- most abilities can be cast while moving
