I was wondering if there was any way of possibly converting an older retail client on disc to the new client without having to redownload everything? Some type of coping and pasting that could be done? Or must one download the huge client regardless? Or will the client only stream the zones you enter and are in and not the full game all at once? |

Personally, I prefer to download the entirety of the game first, regardless of how much I'll play it, but yes, it's entirely possible. Install the streaming client elsewhere, or name it differently, so that it doesn't conflict with the original installation, after you're done installing, just copy THE FOLDERS inside the game's original installation to the new streaming client installation, ignore the other files, and... that's it!, easy as that!. Uninstall the regular client and you're done!. OR, you could move everything you have in your EQ2 installation (again, just the folders) to another folder, say, a new one called EQ2, uninstall the game, install the streaming client and move everything in your temporal EQ2 folder to the streaming client installation and done!. Whatever you do, it's pretty hard to screw things up, the worse that could happen is that you'll have to download everything again. Or make your computer explode. Good luck!. |
