Just a couple of questions, I have while I ponder my return to the game or not.

1. How are the server populations, I have all my toons on Mistmoore?

2. What are the future plans for the game? Another RoK?

3. Has the lag in Neriak subsided yet?

4. Have they changed the rewards in RoK cause if I remember right plate tanks and leather wearers got screwed hard, glad I was leveling my assassin.

Let me answer this before the fanbois get ahold of it. I just returned 2 days ago. I don't have any toons above 50, so if you're looking for answers of how the upper levels of gaming is I can't give it to you.

1) The same as its always been. I rarely see people leveling up, and have not been in one group despite running around with lfg on. I'm on the LDL server which is heavy during peak.

2) I would imagine so, but no one knows for sure but the suits.

3) I suppose so, since I have no lag anywhere. I woudn't say I have a good computer.

4) I don't know since, I don't have any toons to be of that level.

To me its the same EQ2 it was 6 months ago. If you didn't like it enough to stay subscribed you still won't like it.

The last few devchats leaked a few infos about Future plans for EQ2:

Expansion wise they have not released much infos about the next one yet, they just told that it will be very story based and  all the lore stories they released on eq2players in the last months should hint at what it will be about. I still have no idea, but i guess you probably will need to know more about the lore in general than i do.

in the closer future we will see a runnyeye based instance for level 80s in GU46 (which will probably be in about 1 month), guild halls are busy beeing worked on but thats about as far as our infos go atm (they said they will release more infos about them when they get closer to completion), voice chat is geting integrated in the client (there was a note about SOE teaming up with a voice chat company, and they are currently working on adding it into client).

I have several toons that I am leveling up.  After you hit 20 you can typically find 1 or 2 groups going (Blackburrow/Ogguk).  Once in a while you see a pre-teen group running around, but since TD solo quests offer the best gear at those level and take you up to 20. . .  yeah.

Right now it is easy to get a group or form a group for SH, FG, RoV, RE, ZEK.  Those are the places I frequent at least in the 20-40 level range.

The next LU (45) is having expanded banks.  4 new slots for your personal and shared bank.  Bank slots are shared across good and evil.  They are also adding in shared money slots that will also be shared good/evil.
Grey quests now give AA and there are ui options to enable / disable their display on the map.  Oh, and some adjustments to cure (lumping them into one ability for healers) and removing a bunch of reagents (like nil crystals) from casters and making them cost power instead.

Lag has been very good.  I had an issue in FG a little while ago, but it was PL and most likely just on my end as no one else had issues.  Nek forest is easy to run through now, and not as cluttered / choppy as it once was.  Overall I am very satisfied with the network performance.

They just released a patch that added an option in the graphics performance section called re-use vertex buffer.  This option has fixed A LOT of stuttering on many people's 8800 series cards.  There are some people who still have issues, but a big step in the right direction.

about question 4. they did not do a big change on quest rewards just some minor adjustments where some items were too overpowered.. I also noticed taht there is not much armor a tank would use (especially if you had good legendary or even fabled equip before ROK) in the first few levels, but i found some jewelry items and later on in kunzar jungle and jarsath you get betetr tank choices too.

Also there is a lot good equip for tanks from the group Instances, some of these are even better than some raiddrops.
