The game is pretty easy to get into if you played any other MMO. If not, take your time to read the tooltips and don't be afraid to ask channels. I was guilded by level 3 (20 mins in game) so a lot of help came from long discussions with guild mates (that actually care to talk + help you out). They made me 10 bags 18slots for my character, house + bank and at level 20 they sent me 8 mastercrafted items. Today I received 7 scribes for my spells as well ! :) This happened to all of my real life mates we started together + joined this guild so kudos to EQ2 people and Lords of Fate for a warm welcome!
The grind is non existant unless you go looking for reasons to grind. No harsh repair costs (im 32, none yet dunno later), gathering is quite easy not a chore, just gather while you play + crafting is interesting + kinda addictive (and rewarding as well). Regarding soloing...Up to now I've grouped only for dungeons but those are meant to group. And as a warden healer early stages aint that nice and fast to solo but I did fine and now it's great. If you pick something else like a Brigand or Shadowknight it will be easier I think :) Regarding your last question, I came from WoW being a main tank + Guild master and days simply had not enough time for me to run everything + raid. In EQ2 I can login for 1 hour and work only on my crafting (that's what I do when I have work / lessons) and login on weekends for serious questing ! :) But you can just login do 2-3 quests and log out, no problem.
To sum it up I think the greatest strength is that with a mentor system, useful crafts + quite interesting quests with not a lot of grind so far + vaaaaast amount of content finding a good guild will only make your gaming time more enjoyable :) |
