I think TR has stolen a lot of the thunder that this game WOULD HAVE, if it were cutting edge, but at the same time, I think TR's bad launch has left people liking the idea, but not liking TR.

So did TR help or bomb on huxley?  I guess we'll see.  If this game has as bad of a launch as TR, or if TR picks it's game up, I think it will be hard to beat it.

TR's story is better, face it, mad-max style "super energy source" mutant world is played out, and it will lead to some pretty dry content.  Plus TR has the logos.

On the flip side, this game might have better graphics.  Definately better screens, but it will depend on movement, as this is a very strict movement based game they are shooting for.  And TR's pvp isn't that hot... so maybe

In-game: Toxilium

I'm playing Tabula Rasa but it is surely by slowly dying. The devs DO LISTEN but are extremely slow in releasing patches and more content. Since release, the biggest things are an Auction House and new "races" (they are actually just humans with blue/green/red textures overtop). Tabula Rasa will most certainly be dead by around Summer if their devs continue this.

Thank you sir!  You are correct.  All of us ex-planetsiders were excited about Huxley 3 years ago.  I've decided to check darkfall out since then, and ended up waiting for another game.  I'll try huxley if it comes out before darkfall, but i'll most likely end up playing DF!

If tr was a real mmofps i doubt it would have flopped(i know id  be playing it)

From the tr team "To be clear, TR is not an FPS, but it does have elements of a shooter type game, such as your camera being guided by your weapon reticle and an arsenal of diverse weaponry to choose from"

Own, Mine, Defend, Attack, 24/7

Umm HELLO!!! TR is NOT a FPS or even close. TR is not a true twich action title. aiming and skill of the player have almost nothing to do with the combat in TR, it's basicallty the same type of combat used by WOW and other mmorpg's except you use guns instead of spells, same exact thing. The shotgun is different though, it has a cone and aim is a factor.  It's basically just fast paced turn based combat based on player and mob stats. aiming ans stuff has nothing to do with TR.

Huxley will be a real FPS where your FPS skill will be a huge aspect  because you will aim and jum and such. It's just like any other FPS like UT or BF2 and such. Except huxley will add a mmo element like persistent gear and huge maps and hundreds of players at a time. You cannot compare TR to Huxley, cmpletely different.

i Agree that its not a fps but when you say " TR is not a true twich action title"  Its not a twitch style game. but it doesnt have to be twitch to be a fps. Personaly that is one thing thats going to drive me out of huxley. i like the idea i just dont like the style of play even more so at the pvp  aspect  all there doing is skinning Ut3 and selling it pvp wise kinda blows ( im not big on the whole rocket whore jumping around crap)

lol, I seriously doubt Huxley will be anything like a bunny hoping, rocket frag fest. It will no doubt have to be very good and involved to keep players playing.

There hasnt been a real sucess in mmofps yet, since the biggest multiplayer sucesses are twitch based it makes sence that the first successfull mmo would probably be twitch based also.

A non twitch based fps (tactical shooter type) would have to be really good for it doesnt feel to slow in such a huge mmo world , example: wwiionline was too slow most of the time.

I do wish they will make more fps with rts(base building) aspects. Guild owned territories is the best endgame imo.(not faction owned)

You'll be still waiting on Darkfall in 2012... so better find yourself a game that you can  play now.

Large MMO and FPS just don't go hand in hand, all you need for FPS is a few arenas. Investment into a large developed world for the purpose of a player skill based game just is not worth the time or investment.
