Still the best MMO pve wise.

The pvp servers are pretty empty, due to the fact, that the open-pvp system in Age of conan simply does not work. In order to level you need to quest, pvp does not bring any exp at all. And since everyone can attack everyone all the time most people quickly give up.

It's not mch fun when you are trying to complete the quest and some asshole players jump on you, everytime you are battling mobs.

On the pve servers things are just fine. Lots of dungeons (whose complexity is unmatched in the mmo world) and raids.

The best thing: The community consists of amazingly friendly and grown up players, not the snot nosed little morons that make playing in games like wow, gw2 or rift such a nuisance.

Of course that excludes the pvp crowed :)

Actually it's unchained for a while now, even the Blood&Glory servers are ~1.5 years old... but there was an f2p model revision a few months ago, so it definitely worths a review now. For example, before the revamp he could've pick only barbarian from the rogues, ranger was locked. And if review, then Ripper's a good pick, he always makes funny reviews (apart from the pronounce of cimmerian / stygian in the beginning, but since my english is lame, I rather just keep my mouth shut :) )

The game still looks awesome (back at launch it looked so much better than the average mmo's it was almost in a different league...) and it's funny to see Tortage through a first-impressionist eyes. When Ripper went under the Temple choosing epic 'cos "he's epic", I lol'd the same way like  Sheldon at Penny: "level 3 and she thinks she's rich..." :) (great episode btw)

Ah, Age of Conan my one and only mmo-love. Hearing the musik and seeing Tortage again, makes me almost to download it . But after 8 80ies, with some of them having /played counting in months, I´m sure I will get bored by dungeon, raid and fraction grind too soon. I just have done and seen every thing way too often.

Wish I could delete my memory to experince and explore this great game again :)

Best musik: Cimmeria areas

Best dungeon: the classics Xibaluku & Iron Tower; Khitai Tian'an (time run is a thriller) with the rest only a little bit worse.

Raids: T1 sucks :/

T2 is relaxing and fun, dealing insane damage with my mutilator-necro always cool.

T3 seperating the wheat from the chaff.

T3,5 is a beast. Requires highly coordinated tanking and 24 people with full concentration

T4 ranging from easy to hard; looks almost always awsome

Oh boy! I really would like to see another mmo like AoC again.

Ah... Age of Conan... nice to see this gem featured. Always playing and still enjoying it a lot. 

RipperX.... I usually enjoy your clips.  But dude... you butchered the pronounciation of the various factions there my friend.  Sorry, think this is my first negative post on this board but I've been a REH fanatic for over 40 years. 

It isn't "Shoo-merian" it's "Scim (like scimitar) merian

Don't know how to phonetically pronounce Stygian but think Egypt... Egyptian... Stygian.

Thanks for your feedback man, I'm a noob and its my first impressions of the game. I don't know the races and the classes and its something I'm reading and doing usually for the first time, so my apologies if I didn't get them down correctly. I don't have a birdy in my ear telling me what's correct or not..The game was a lot of fun and I can see myself getting into this more. Thanks again for your comments.

Stygian is simple, starts like the river Styx, and the "g" is soft like at the end of Tortage.

Cimmerian has some debate based on dialects, between a soft K and a hard C. We like to use the soft K version (like in Conan, something like Khimmerian) but the game uses in the cutscenes the hard C version (like the start of symmetry)

Agreed with FromHell, a 2nd impression would be great. You're not far from open pvp, based on the B&G ruleset it starts right on White Sands Isle. I don't know it for sure, from first hand since I never pvp :)

I don't get why Ripper X has to sound like one of these "wacky zany" 80's radio DJ's with the ridiculous inflections in his voice like he is trying to sell me a sham-wow or some Oxy-Clean.

I would also think as an MMO Journalist he would have been somewhat familiar with an MMO that has been out for a few years.

However after watching the preview I really wanted to give it a shot... I jumped on the WTFPVP server and it was dead... I mean deadddddd. It is a real shame, I have experienced MMO's having a drop off but man... If I saw 8 other players in Tortage it was a lot!

Funcom's motto should be "we create shost towns" or "The REAL single player MMO expereince"
