Ampris writes: That video was nice, not sure if it was a call for female gamers though, but NPCs really call stuff like that when you play a girl? Thu May 15 2008 5:56PM
CujoSWAoA writes: Its not a "plea" for female gamers. The developers of Age of Conan are just very happy with their females. They've spent more time making their women just as important as the men more than any other MMO to date. You can have a gorgeous female, to a hideous female. The gender gets its own entire set of armor appearances seperate from the men, their own animations, emotes and so on. Its fantastic, and they should be proud. This is a great video. And no, the NPCs do not call things out to you like that in the game that I have seen so far. Thu May 15 2008 6:37PM
HumbleHobo writes: @Ampris It's not the NPCs you should be worried about. You'll get much worse from the players. Thu May 15 2008 8:43PM
TsukieU writes: Isn't it great how women in media can be tough (and sexy), smart (and sexy), independant (and sexy), intimidating (and sexy), and empowered (and sexy)? This video is a milestone for female characters in games everywhere, and the men who create them. Thu May 15 2008 10:44PM

Tagspeech writes: Lol, Tsukie. Yes, if this is a "plea for female gamers", then as usual, the men behind the game couldn't have missed the point worse if they were firing in the wrong direction. The "is it, baby?" made me lawl. To their credit, I will say I was able to successfully make a tall, scrawny, flat-chested girl with a big nose in the beta, which pleased me immensely. This video pretty much just says "tits, tits, tits, blood, tits, blood, buy this game and you'll get laid". So it's pandering to male libido, not some kind of bizarre, sword & sorcery "girl power". Like we actually want to play as a woman who somehow acts as a professional assassin with D cups that aren't even bound. Men are hilarious. Thu May 15 2008 10:57PM
TheSheikh writes: This game is screaming (though subtletly)"Cyborers Unite!" Fri May 16 2008 2:56AM
UncertaintyP writes: Lol @ the men who create them. Yeah, I'm sure there aren't any women working there, and it isn't possible they just don't care like usual. Fri May 16 2008 3:11AM
Loke666 writes: Actually, the video matches R E Howards writing quite ok (Yeah, that was the 30s) so it's not totaly off track. But don't blame Funcom for aiming at the biggest MMO customer group... No, it ain't women. And it's very well made. Fri May 16 2008 3:24AM

XxjagoxX writes: Bottom Line is... Every game looks like another.. Warhammer-WoW... Guild Wars- Aion.... City of heros/villains-Chapions online... Do i really need to go on.. And Btw Everyone steals ideas from games thats been great... why? you ask? Because they worked great in other games!! Listen theres nothing out there nor has been thats really standing out and taking control of the PC MMO market that makes anyone say " Damm i cant wait to play this!" yea we have all the clones and look alikes.. But c'mon people WoW is Old. GW's is Old. Everquest is old. CoH Is Old... Hell pretty much all the Good MMO's are OLD!!! Theres nothing in the market that stands out and is truly something new, grabs me by the neck and screams Pay a monthly fee and play me!!! it's all re-hashed ideas with a new name.. Sit down and think... Name somthing thats not like anything else that turned out great and has or had a chance to dethrone WoW and the few other top MMO"s... My last hopes was talbua rasa and perhaps Pirates of the burning sea... Both Failed me as being somthing Kinda new to do...and has no chance @ dethroning anyone. Sun May 18 2008 10:48AM
NeoDodge writes: Lemme answer this jago : "f*ck dethroning". The MMOs you cite all have faithful players who won't migrate or even consider the option for the most extreme of theme. Why ? Mostly because they have friends there. Why take the risk of leaving the game, even for something ten times as good, if it's to play it alone ? And with tens of thousands of people thinking the same, no new MMO can ever hope of dethroning, let's say, WoW, the biggest sheep facility of the MMO industry. So they don't even aim at this anymore.
