Age of Conan game director, Craig Morrison, has put out a call for players to give the development team at Funcom their impressions of PVP. In his forum post, Morrison indicates that developers are ready to move on to improving players' PVP experiences and have a few ideas. That said, Morrison wrote:

I'm more interested in hearing is which area of PVP you personally would feel is most important we address, or what order you would address them in.

So, there are a number of things that are possible for the next focus of PVP.

Among the changes Funcom is considering are a new mini-game and/or open world objectives in the Border Kingdoms. Morrison is asking players for one thing they would most like to see implemented, improved or changed.
