Is this game like Skyrim?

The combat style, the big world to explore etc

Any info would be awesome.

If it is like Skyrim shoot sign me up!

Don't you think if it were an MMORPG like Skyrim it would have never gone free to play? This game does a decent amount correctly, but if you are looking for Skyrim in an MMORPG setting, this isn't it.

It is a good, fun game.

But NO it is not like skyrim. 5 minutes on the intarwebz looking would have shown you that.

learn 2 intarwebz better imo.

Yeah for a Skyrim like game... Darkfall or Mortal Online. Thats all you get to choose from.. Sadly

this game is graphically amazing,the combat is unique,still has a few bugs but its well worth a go..wont cost you anything will it.this did poorly on release due to bugs and memory leeks and such..its  a lot better now.ENJOY..p.s nothing like skyrim..this is extremely bloodthirsty stuff.

Both Mortal Online and Darkfall are very similar to Skyrim. But they both have plenty of bugs and lack in content, atleast MO, i havent played Darkfall so cant really say.

But MO is getting a new huge patch soon that is supposed to add alot of PvE and some other stuff. So they might be worth checking out.

Always fun to see the trolls lol.

Funcom has resisted having great crafting. Crafting today reflects that vision for the game.PVP...don't ask.PVE...great game. stunning graphics .

Yea its worth checking out, there is a free trial so cant hurt to test it out, but i would wait for the new patch (atleast if you are very interested in some PvE content)

Dont listen to all the trolls and haters, sure the games might not be the best thing ever and they could be alot better and polished. But they both have fairly small development teams and no big companys wanna fund them since the games are too "hardcore" and wont ever get millions of players. Atleast they are trying to make something fairly unique and diffrent, more akin to the oldschool MMO's and not the same crap every AAA company spews out these days.

MO and Darkfall feel alot more like a real "world" and not just a game, all MMO players today just want instant action and free loot, they dont wanna work for it or anything. WoW and others feels more like a "lobby" based game where you just stand around in town, signing up for battlegrounds and dungeons to get some fast loot and quick action, no exploring or anything, dont even see why they have a huge world anymore when nobody uses them.

Edit: Kinda derailing the thread here =P But about age of conan its really not like Skyrim at all, besides from the blood and gore! But its a great game and worth checking out, i had tons of fun with it back at launch and it is one of my favore games, but i hated some parts about it like the instancing and all the loading screens. If there is not a big open world thats really a gamebreaker for me.

they have what you call 'Fatalities' .if you get one on melee you will cut there heads off and blood will spurt everywhere..if you are ranged they look different,but the game is awsome to play..and you will enjoy it..try a melee to get the feel of the game..the fatalities make it awsome..and has i say the combat is unique..not like other mmo's.

I know how you feel, i played MMO games since 1997, i miss the open world type and how real it feels. I got SWTOR and after a while its just ugh nothing at all. 

I will check those two out, i would try MO but i will wait for the patch. Darkfall seems cool but its small from what i have heard.

MO and Darkfall feel alot more like a real "world" and not just a game, all MMO players today just want instant action and free loot, they dont wanna work for it or anything. hell of an over generalization plenty of sandbox fans want more complex games but dislike MO/DF because they are bad games and not the reasons mentioned above. WoW and others feels more like a "lobby" based game where you just stand around in town, signing up for battlegrounds and dungeons to get some fast loot and quick action, no exploring or anything, dont even see why they have a huge world anymore when nobody uses them.

The combat in Age of Conan is not really like Skyrim combat. You have 5 attack directions (123 and QE) and you have "Ability Combos" like you press "reak havoc" that you have keybinded to 4 or 5 or whatever, then that will start a combo, and you use 123 or QE to finish that combo, what attack directions to use will light up.

Magic combat is standard MMO combat.

Mortal Online has VERY similar Melee combat to Skyrim, its almost identical, even abit more "advanced" as you choose block direction aswell. But magic combat is not like Skyrim Combat at all.

Darkfall online has VERY similar Magic combat to skyrim, but Melee combat is kind of a joke there imo, even worse then normal MMO combat.

Not really.

The combat is different from other games. It have trinity like Wow, but when you make a melee attack (or ranger shot) it will be followed by 1-3 moves to get it right. You will hit any opponent your sword touches (the best thing in AoC and something it actually do better than any other MMO).

The world is not so big besides the lvl 80 zones from the expansion. It is beutiful and there are plenty of small good details that makes exploration fun but it is just too small to make explorers happy.

On the plus side do the game really look great and some of the dungeons are really fun so it is worth a try but it ain´t like Skyrim, no MMO really is.

skrim has combat? i thought it was a single player pve game

This game is nothing like Skyrim. Not sure how anyone could make the connection.

I like both games but just seems an odd comparison.

skrim has combat? i thought it was a single player pve game

1-20 is fun (Tortage) after that, well ... you'll see, but there is a huge let down after the newbie area.
