Having played Skyrim for a few hours, I am feeling very Conan'esq.  Having rolled a Nord Barb using two handed weapons I am full of blood rage.  Even though the lore isn't right it's just a fantastic game.  It's feels like you are on a Conan adventure, more than say playing AOC or any of the other Conan titles to date.

Not terribly surprising, considering the lore and theme of the two in comparison.

I am playing Skyrim, but I honestly don't think it is a better Conan style game than AoC. I play two handed sword and a bow. AoC has much better fatalities. I play on PC with all sliders maxed and AoC  maxed looks quite a bit better than Skyrim maxed. My character model is looking kind of stiff if I take the time to admire him, like he has blocks of wood under his armpits that are holding his arms away from his body. Third person animations in Skyrim, while improved over Oblivion, are still far from the beautiful, fluid character movements in AoC. Also the horse in Skyrim is not nearly as natural and realistic looking as AoC. The motion quality in general, character animations, combat, graphics are all far superior in AoC imo.

I mentioned this myself...I can't help but hear the soundtrack from Conan the Barbarian in the background from time to time in me head.   Skyrim is the game AoC should have been.   Skyrim is more Hyborian than Age of Conan ever was or will be.

Thats because Funcom doesnt have the faintest idea how to create a better one! The original devs of the game left ages ago. So, now you have a handfull of nitwits who dont know what to do with the game, just like the forum mods, who think they are gods, but dont have the faintest idea how to treat people right. But then hey, what do you want from those people!

If it contains the words video and game, it must be a WOW clone.

I've been reminded of Conan quite a bit myself in skyrim, though I feel AOC did a faily decent job of capturing the feeling it was aiming to.

If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all.
