Hello, I'm interested in playing this game, but I'd like some clarification on the pricing model. To my understanding, levelling to level cap on specific classes can be done without paying a single dime, right? IE, it's an unlimited trial. Is there a subscription anywhere though? Does the "Upgrade to Premium" entail just the box price, or will I have to sub? Can I unlock one class (for 1500 Funcom points) and play that class to level cap without paying a sub?
Thanks! "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." I need to take this advice more. |

You can play guardian, demonologist, priest of mitra and barbarian for free until the level cap. Going premium is basically paying the monthly fee which will unlock all the game features for a month. Unlocking a character class is 750 coins, which equals about 6 euros. |

Basicly you can play 10% of the game free , if you want the good class's or to be able to go through all the content , I.E dungeons etc , you will have to pay for them , yes it has a normal sub price like all mmorpgs and that what you pay if your premeum , and yes you can unlock a class and level it to max free , but like i said most of the game is locked out , like dungeons , Alternate advancment points and a lot of other stuff , including the expantion content . The biggest thing for me is the lockout on 90% of the class's and dungeons etc , limit on gold ( 2g is nothing) and the communication wall, free players cant even send a tell to pay players or eve ntalk in gebneral chat with them ( unless its changed in the last month) .

Thank you both.
I can sort of live without the instanced PvE -- if it were truly F2P then I would understand. But the social restrictions are way too harsh. So I figure I will upgrade.
I really want to play either a HoX or a ToS. "Never argue with a fool; onlookers may not be able to tell the difference." I need to take this advice more. |

Yeah, the social restrictions arent that bad since a lot players are freemium too so you can talk with them. And you can talk on other channels than general if youre searching for a group or something. I started playing with my friends from scratch on a blood and glory server just about a month ago. So far, I have unlocked the bear shaman and we are all planning on unlocking all the pre lvl80 dungeons, which makes a total of 16,6e (750+1250/120). I think that will last me pretty long and its comparable to a one time monthly fee. |

I havnted noticed any restrictions on chatting and i play free. maybe they changed it? i dunno but i think if you dont care much about dungeons than you wont miss not paying the monthly sub untill you are 80 and missing out on the AA points. from what i understand free to play doesnt get to use the AA system wich is very important for end game stuff, especially pvp. Also i believe if you pay for a month and make say a HoX or ToS, then once your sub runs out if you decide not to pay again you can still play those characters because they have been made. BUT not subbing only gives you 3 character slots, so make sure if your not subbing you unlock the characters you want to play the most, if you have more than 3 that is. |
