Clearly the OP is on crack, they believe AoC is the best MMO and that darkfall is actually going to be released.

I'm fine playing together with people that enjoy AoC, if haters and crybabies can't deal with it, that's your own problem. Can't help you with that.

 

All I can say is, anyone with a slight brain or somewhat of a life does not get "conned" by a computer game...

You either figure out how to deal with what you got, or move on to something else.

Alot of people on this board seem incapable of such, that's unfortunate, but that's all the sympathy I have for you...

 

 

Someone with a brain shouldn't feel the need to defend the game they play, or feel unhappy when others voice unfavorable opinions on it.

That might work in a world where people weren't addictive to flaming, hating, trying to bring games down to "support" a different game, believing that a game company actually comes to their house and steals their money, that a game company is responsible for ruining their life, forever... or so it seems...

How people like that actually make it from day to day is somewhat of a mystery to me, they have to utterly suck at life...

Btw my post that you responded to was not a defense of AoC, but pointing out the failure of people whining about a computer game.

Im not against people critizising any game, pointing out things they think should be improved, but this board is just ridiculous, flaming from top to bottom.

If you really love to play MMO's, then why bother with games you don't like?

You just find the best game out there and play it.

Since people are still stuck flaming and hating, I guess they don't see any better game to go to then.

Hmm well its up to you if you wanna play a game that hte majority of the people on this forum hate. But posting a thread titled, "AoC is the best MMO out there" is pretty much flamebait.

But yes, its your opinion and your entitled to it. I won't question your intelligence.

It is at the end all about having a stable community to play with. Any MMO sucks without one. If you've found one, then gratz. If you haven't or lost your guild/friends in Conan then your probably here spamming on these forums like the rest of us.

AoC is nice from 1-20, entertaining with a good sotryline.

AoC is medicore up to lvl 50, you go through the areas rather fast and see your character develop, also some pvp on the way up to eiglophian mountains and old tarantia, areas are different and somehow exititng.

Then it hits you, 50-80 limited quests, lots of ganking when you hit 70 and get to keshatta where most of the 1-shot gemmed wonders are, the content is crap, the pvp is meaningless, guilds are falling apart since noone wants to play anymore non 64bit systems crash constantly, class imbalance.

There is gemduping, no siege pvp that works, there is absolutey notthing to do exept running through the same raidplaces over and over and over again ,only 4 places that are worth going to anyway.

Well i gave AoC way too much time and money..i havent played now for a few weeks exept ocasionally logging in, well sub ends tomorrw.

I think 99% of the people who responded to this post,totally missed his point.

He enjoys the parts of the game that AREgood,he is not saying that he enjoys the flaws,like EVERY single person keeps eluding to..geesh.

He is sort of right,although it is just his opinion,when he says other games offer nothing for him in the areas he DOES like....graphics/combat.

I agree with some of the other posters,that the game will struggle against other games in PVP,but that would be said for EVERY pvp game,because IMO there all crap.Not the games themselves but there PVP design.The other part that makes every single PVP part of a game crap is that the game world itself never factors into it,because it was designed for PVE.You make a PVE environment and add in PVP it just has no merit.

He is quite right when says most games out there are or get extremely boring ,so if he finds AOC less boring ,then he should be playing it.I mean why on earth would anyone play a game that is boring,lol,because it has no bugs?bzzzzz  wrong answer.

I can say it till i'm blue in face ,and i will...WOW is VERY boring and he is right when says it is designed childish,from it's models/emotes,the whole make up of the game is just designed for a very young crowd.

Even the game with the most content of any game out there[by a long shot]FFXI,can and does get boring at times,so it's pretty much a given that every game will get boring after several months of playing.For those that like to power level,you will get bored even faster because your gaming abilities/content are extremely limited to one aspect[leveling].

And their PR is terrible. They delete threads which offer constructive criticism on their forums and ban the OPs. And they receive a lot of this because their game is a piece of crap, and they don't know how to handle people who aren't happy with their game and are requesting and suggesting improvements.

Digitized boobs don't make up for lack of compelling gameplay.

Totally bored with the "WOW is childish" - argument.

In my views its utterly more childish to view things like pissing drunks, beheadings and boobs as things that significates a "mature" MMO and people that things such things are "cool" are not as mature as they would think as I see it.

Since the title wasn't exactly matching the content of your post.

And ofcourse, you are entitled on your opinion. It's just that I don't agree.

After getting bored and disapointed in AoC ( not because of bugs and class imbalance or jewel twinks, ((those are fixable things)), but mainly because of the instanced gameworld and some basic mechanics in the game which are flawed), I tried Lotro and man, that game is so sweet and polished and beautifully worked out it really got my juices flowing. It entertained me more and longer then AoC has done, even without open world pvp. After an hour of playing I totally forgot about the dynamic combo system, decapitations and blood splashes and I found myself just completely awed by the amount of content and gameplay and immersion enhancing features this game throws at you. Beats AoC on all grounds, as far as I'm concerned. Too bad there is no open world pvp so I am yearning for WAR at the moment but if I had to choose to go back to an MMO which I played in the past then AoC is almost bottom on the list, only besting Guild Wars. I'd much rather go back to WoW EDIT: or EVE.

What about upcoming games?

Well Warhammer is soon to be released, and from what is said, it's less buggy and more polished. And will probably have more subscribers than AoC.

I don't really care, it still looks like a boring WoW-clone, alot of people seem to think it's just boring.

 

The only game that could really challenge AoC is Darkfall.

However Darkfall got shitty graphics, and it isn't as unlimited as you'd like it to be. Though it's a step in the right direction.

 

Until something better shows up I'll continue subscribing to AoC. Not only because it's the game I prefer to play, but it's a support for someting new and innovative in the MMO buisness. I might leave if I see a better game, but not before.

WAR is in no way a Wow clone and is by far the most  fun mmo out there.
