I believe they have opened up other developers eyes, and made them realise they can't release unpolished garbage and get away with it.

I don't look at paying 50 dollars for AoC as a rip off anymore. I look at it like an investment in the future of mmo's.

Warhammer cutting cities and classes is a prime example. They saw the backlash FC got from it's customers and realised they need to release the content when it is polished.

And developers wonder why wow was such a BIG HIT. It was not all about content and the play style,it was the simple fact that wow was polished ran on just about anything, and pretty much everything worked except the launch servers having issues.

Support Bacteria - They''re the only culture some people have.

Age of Conan beta started in April 2007 with Tehnical Beta (Focus tests for comperison) and general beta a month or two after.

So testing wise Age of Conan had quite long beta.

I started to play general beta in Oct 07 and till May 2007 we had only 3 wipes ( after some major patches ) I leveled up multiple level 80 characters and as well played bunch of end game group content ( not raid ).

So people who are now bullshiting something how aoc had only some small beta are

The fact is AoC could use more time to get polished and leveling wise they made game so easy that no wonder players were pissed off by buged and unfinished end game content,

There would be a lot lot less complaining if the game had some decent grind in it and that hardcore players would need at least 2 months to get to end game content ( we are closing to 2 months and you have players with 4+ maxed level 80 chars ).

Well on the other hand they released game to soonish, got bunch of money and by the time WaR is released they could polish and add missing features and once free WaR month is over just send 7 or 14 days free time to all members who quit to come back and try it out.

War have same "problem" as AoC both games are over hyped and that always produce bunch of unhappy players & trolls & haters. ( note: WaR can be released as the best and completly polished/finished game  and it will still have bunch of haters that expected something else ... )

Its funny how you see posts where players whine how hard it to grind .. let me say compared to WoW (as its now) you can grind at least 3 times faster in AoC . In the old WoW days the "grind" was harder and there were no battle grounds / arenas / lots of raid content .

Well if not before I bet AoC will raise at next expension that they plan to release in 2009.
