What "Fanbois" need to understand is that most "Haters" are just upset because they can see just how good AoC can be, then they see what kind of "fixes" FC is tossing out. When the "Haters" hit the forums to voice their opinions the "Fanbois" jump all over them for "hating" instead of approaching them the way they should: As a fellow gamer that is having issues. If Age of Conan is to succeed, then quit chasing off those that have problems. Lend an ear, allow them to vent, and be positive.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some fanbois you just can't reach, so you get what we had here all week which is the way they wants it. Well, they gets it. And I don't like it any more than you mmo'ers.

Life Liberty and the Pursuit of those that would threaten It |
What we have here is a company that had an unfinished game and tried to hide the fact as long as they could and took advantage of initial sales. To make a profit and make promises to improve the game in hopes of keeping as many paying customers as long as possible. In short these folks give boiled eggs a bad name. |

I forget, how many eggs did Redford eat? 99 or 100? Damn good movie. On topic: Like all games before it, blind pucker-mouthed fanbois will defend to the death the right not to point out flaws with their game. Most of them likely sleep with the disks under the covers, and like teenage girls have posters of the lead dev on their pink painted bedroom wall. I applaud your effort though. |

I was a fanboi at first and hoped that this was the cure to my mmo fix (which hasnt been satisfied since pre-cu swg) but it wasnt. To me AoC was pretty fun the first 45 levels or so but as I increased in level the game got worse. Not to mention the horrible patches. As I approached lvl 70, all the 80's in the guild were asking "Now that Im 80 what do I do now?" there just isnt enough content in the game to keep people interested. End game sucks, crafting is an absolute mess, instead of fixing classes they just nerf them. Lag spikes happen all the time. Its total garbage and I think funcom is goin down in flames in a year or two. They might be able to ride the ship with 1 mmo disaster but not 2. |

Actually, the title of this thread is a line from Cool Hand Luke, played by Paul Newman.

Existence is random! |
Hmmm, what we have here is a thread where yet again, people that dislike the game are somehow classing themselves as inherently superior to those that support it who are classed as idiots for not being able to see the world from the OP's view point. Excluding the obscure movie references which were actually interesting, the rest just seems to be the usual display of 'Hatebois' patting each other on the back. Given that the thread is ironically about communication, it says a lot about how representative these threads are that supporters of the game couldn't even be bothered to respond. I support the game purely because I enjoy playing it, but I am certainly not a 'Fanbois' as I grew out of declaring myself a 'big fan' of anything a very long time ago. If I like something I will play it, otherwise I will just find something else, it's no big deal. I think that probably many other supporters of the game feel the same way, despite the flaws. For the time being they enjoy it so they keep on playing, but it's just a game not a religion. For some reason many people that hate the game seem to assume that the supporters are idiots that are totally besotted with it, rather just normal people who find it an enjoyable way of passing the time. If people stopped trying to turn everything into tribal warfare, they might realise that there isn't a huge 'Us Vs Them' divide & that actually, enjoying the game despite it's current flaws was mainly just down to personal taste. |

Damn it! I like that movie too. Always confuse their names with their faces for some reason. So how many boiled eggs was it? |

I've seen this whole thing happen so many times before, a new game comes out and the two sides gather to do battle over it. What it boils down to is that you either like a game or you don't, it's how you go about expressing your opinion that causes all the arguments and tension. Personally i played AoC for about two weeks, got to level 40 then made my judgment that the game wasn't for me. I came here, posted a review on it and left it at that. I know my opinion differs from those who enjoy the game and see good in it, so be it, why waste time trying to persuade someone otherwise? If you pass someone in the street who is eating a sandwhich you don't like wou | |
