With the release of the new website, they also released a brand new trailer. Well now you can get it in both 480p and 720p. Posted at the official site today.

  Wow ....

Looking forward to these next few weeks as more and more media starts to be released...

Also making it harder to wait for final release, i noticed play.com a UK games retailer have the game release date the same as the US version as the 25/03/08 when i thought we were getting it on the 28th?

Itching to book my time off work :-S

Ooh, they have the internet on computers now.

Looks great. But what i really want to know is do i need a super computer in order to run this game well? Will it be like VG and the game is ahead of the current average players system?

Well one way to answer your question is to get it to look like that your going to need DirectX 10...which means a recent video card and Vista.

However, in interviews they have mentioned the game scales really well and has been designed with performance in mind.  I have faith that it will look good without requiring a modern 6k gaming rig.  We'll see soon though!

The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them.

I saw an ATI x850 video card there and lets just say, what they said about the game being very scalable is right in this area. Also I just played a run through the whole Santum area seeing pretty high fps with the new Cheetah engine;)

To quote myself, im will be upgrading my pc's powersupply and getting an 8800 next week, so i'm not too worried about running it now, but i'd still like to know what kind of system specs will this game have. Like i said, if people have to wait a year or two before everyone 'catches up' to the games hardware demands, like VG, it might 'flop'. As what happend with VG, a bad release could lead to the game never being able to recover.

Well the VG team actually stated they were designing graphics for the future's computers.  Considering the AoC team hasn't said anything like that and has on the contrary said that the graphics scale well I am still confident.  Plus the graphics we've seen are comparable to today's graphics which is always a good sign.

Yes, I know this is the AoC forums, but seeing as it's a Funcom game, I thought you all might wanna see this:

God the game is gorgeous. Maybe VG was 'designed for future computers.' Their coders still sucked and on the best hardware it chugged.

I'm semi-happy the game was delayed. Partly so they can get it as polished, complete and bug free. But mostly because I'm building a monster of a new PC in April.

Very pretty, but they're hyping the GRAPHICS now. I just can't trust games that do that. As much as I love good art and animations and settings in video games, graphics are like FX in a movie. They're nice when done well, but they're NOT the reason a movie is good. I've seen way too many video games touting their awesome graphics, usually because they can't tout their gameplay. It would be sad if this was the case for AoC. At least they have other videos showing the gameplay up, but still that 'Tech Demo' made me shiver.

I downloaded the highest rez version and the video looks kinda washed out compared to the videos on youtube.  Is there something I need to configure differently or is it just because it is being compressed to hell??

God damn Battlekruse, do have a positive bone in your body? Now even having good graphics means it's a bad game? Your really starting to have to REACH for that negativity.

Yeah, I as well always crumble in fear and desperation whenever I see that a game has nice graphics. It should not be..... But then I remember that good graphics do not hold a developer back to actually create a strong background and a rich history for the game. It then also occurs to me that both, pretty pics and immersive gameplay, are not excluding each other. And you know what? I suddenly feel much better after that

Check his forum activity. He's a through and through WAR fan. I think it's disrespectful of him coming here to bash our game. Maybe I should start doing the same at the WAR forum?

Edit to say: I just went through some pages of his latest posts and he's A) glorifying WAR on absolutely everything and B) bashing AoC on absolutely everything. He's the consummate fanboi. In fact his picture should be in an encarta under WAR fanboi. If there was just a tiny speck of credibility in him he'd have at least some positive things to say about AoC. He's totally without credibility and should be ignored in my opinion. Nothing personal battlekruse, but take a look at your posts. It's all a wad of smelly bile.
