They are developing AoC it for the Xbox 360.

Then get it for the computer dang no one is making you play the xbox verson.

FFXI is both on consoles and PC, and which you are using is transparent to anyone else in teh world, unless you tell em.

In that they've already said its a PC launch, this would mean they are following a similar concept, assuming its true.

it is coming out for BOTH the PC and the Xbox 360; PC first, Xbox 360 some time later. Someone already mentioned FFXI and seeing the success of that on multiple platforms is encouraging for the future of AoC (assuming it's good)... plus, I just think it'll be more fun on a console because it seems more like a hack and slash rather than a traditional "hit 1 to auto attack".

... wow... that completely, and entirely kills it though. i hope they dont have windows and live servers merged. i probably won't get it now really.

It is true, that the PC/xbox360 version looks better then the PS2, because they will support a higher gameplay resolution. But the only differences are based on the look of the game. The games are exactly the same in every other way. If they were not, then they could not play together on the same server.

It's releasing for PC first. These servers will be PC only.

The Xbox 360 release will come some time after. Maybe even a year or so later. At that time they will have Xbox 360 servers, as well as looking to create new "merged" servers.

Should just ignore this thread guys. The OP is a complete "OH MAI GAWD" climactic sh**. Having xbox360 and PC linked on the same servers will not do ANYTHING negative for the game. It will, in fact, positively affect the gameplay and populations because they will strike both markets (console and PC fanbois). Thus striking it rich in both departments. WoW doesn't even have this going for them which means AoC will have a 1UP against Blizzard.

No platform was supior to any other on FFXI in playstyle what-so-ever.

I own all expansion excluding the newest for all 3 platforms.

              A few of the differences are:

A. PC could create hacks.

B. PC could use special font characters.

C. PS2 could achieve a silly glitch to enter the water in Valkrum Dunes.

So unless you plan on using hacks on Age of Conan your argument seems pointless. Though I am intrigued by AoC, I will be playing Warhammer instead which brings me to my final thought.

If I am not being to forward I suspect the AoC crowd will not shed many tears when you walk away.

Hmmm I can't say anything about AoC since I haven't played it but for a game like WoW, using a controller would severely gimp a player instead of benefiting them.
