I hope who ever plays conan is someone totaly new to the movie industry but also got talent and looks like conan supposed to look like.  I seriously hope its not Vin Diesel or The Rock.

And I thought Arnold played a good conan mostly because he looked the part and he didnt have many lines.

Now all we need is a Action Adventure game for Red Sonja and a new movie for her.

I think I read somewhere not sure if its true or not that Arnie has some sort of a say on who will play Conan.

I think that as long as the new guy is environmentally friendly, Arnie shoudln't have a problem with him

I'm also curious as to why Arnie's word carried any weight.  Does he own some kind of rights to conan or something?

Problem with Arnold's Conan character is that he didnt have many lines and presented Conan as a dumb brute. I hope they dont make that mistake again!

You're kidding right? Gerard's acting style is him trying to expel his own teeth out with the force of his own hammyness. I kinda agree with the other guy who chose The Rock, he was great in the Scorpion King, and who cares if he doesn't have an accent? I'm pretty sure Ancient Greece didn't have Scottish men either right?

Listen here mate, i disagree with him using his Scottish accent in 300 but he looked the part and could do Conan better. He has the build and accent for Conan, Conan as i have said is meant to be Celtic so the accent would fit and be more true to the IP.

As for The Rock, he would make the movie too cheesy.

Note also that Scots lived on Ireland before coming to Scotland. Also note that Scots, Irish, and Welsh are all Celtic. And when people talk about Black Irish, i would think the would more likely be Middle-Eastern Semitic looking peoples as opposed to Negro. As there is a tribe of Arabs i believe that were found to use a language extremely similar to Gaelic.

A 2-3 hour movie will never be able to truly capture the energy, complexity, and excitement of the Conan character.  I always thought a HBO series of Conan would be far better since they have experience in creating bold shows.  The creators of Rome would be perfect for creating a Conan series imo.  Any fan of the books would most likely be disappointed in a single movie.  If you have not read the Conan stories, I highly suggest picking up a copy of The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian and you will see why a movie will never be able to do the stories justice.

I disagree if you look at the Lord of the rings movies i think thay captured the feel and story of the books very well thay did it beyond my exspectations, so in my opinion its very much possble but you will need a good studio and directror and actors and then in my opinion it could be possble even in a singel movie.

Steve Buscemi would be perfect for the role of Conan.
