After all is said and done, a lot more will be said than done.

From Mattlow @ Warcry http://aoc.warcry.com/news/view/78561

For those of you who can't get enough Conan, or thought that there would never be another movie after Arnold. Great news, a new Conan movie has been announced, with the promise that this movie will be much closer to Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian, than Arnold's movies.

You can see the news at  Coming Soon.net.

I wonder who will play Conan??

Playing: Age of Conan, Crysis Wars (mod maps), Fallout 3, NWN2 Storm of Zehir
Watching: Doctor Who S4, Stargate Atlantis S5

Conan is meant to be a Celt so as long as whoever plays him doesn't use an American accent i'll be happy.

Not hat i dislike Americans, i just think that American accents have no place in fantasy movies like Conan which is set 10,000 years b.c.

I never mentioned English, i am talking about accents. Conan is a Celt and could have an Irish, Scottish, or Welsh accent. Conan is an Irish name as well.

Gerard Butler did a really good job in 300 and would probably make a good Conan.

You're kidding right? Gerard's acting style is him trying to expel his own teeth out with the force of his own hammyness. I kinda agree with the other guy who chose The Rock, he was great in the Scorpion King, and who cares if he doesn't have an accent? I'm pretty sure Ancient Greece didn't have Scottish men either right?

Bollocks!

Hmmm all the maps of Hyborea put Cimmeria in the location of the British Isles, and due north of Aquilonia (France). Also, REH, himself a Celtic enthusiast, considered his Cimmerians to be ancestral to the "Black Irish". Note also that Conan is an Irish name, and Conan swears by Irish deities.

What about 'Triple H' guy? or Russel Crowe if he was beefed up a bit ? or Vin Diesel? Eric Bana? Brian Thompson?

I utterly agree with you. Butler was so florid and camp, I thought it was a Graham Norton skit.

Only one man could play Conan:

Sir Donald Sinden!

Triple H might be good, it's just whether they want an accented buff guy or not, I agree with Crowe, a little more muscley and he good do it probably. Vin Diesel? never, I may not like Conan, but I don't hate him THAT much to put Diesel in the roll. He needs to make a new Chronicles of Riddick anyways. Not sure about Eric Bana or Thompson, but ya good ideas for him.

Bollocks!

Yeah, it's kinda old news. There's been work being done on another Conan for a while.  They had the  Wachowski brothers working on it, but they ended up leaving/dropping the project. The wanted Triple H as Conan's son, with Arnold reprising the role. Last I heard Triple H turned it down. It was going to be King Conan or something, but I think that version/script was dropped.  WB had the rights, but they dropped it and Millennium Films picked it up. If all goes as planned, filming starts in the Spring.
