thats stupid. i am not paying 20 bucks a month just to play a game. the standard 15 bucks makes more sense. and i suppose you would pay 100 bucks a month a 1000 years from now? of course we should by then have credit cards engraved in our arms or somthin. anyways its just a game and should be treated like one. it needs to be cheap for a enjoyable and fun experiance. |

Originally posted by Supernerd I'd hate to be led by a no-good, condescending person. By the way, you have been supporting your suggestion by claiming an unreleased game will be phenomenal. Innovation is necessary to attract a larger audience, but that doesn't make it more expensive. Blind agreement is just plain foolish.

On the Age of Conan site. They clearly state that the price of the monthly fee will average on the normal amount for any MMO, which is about $14.99USD. I HIGHLY doubt that it would go up, not yet. The only thing that would make the monthly fee go up, would be that they were confident in their quest to crush WoW which I'm sure that if they've seen all the other new MMO's. They shouldn't be.

I would not play the game if its monthly fee was over 15 bucks, unless it was crazy amazing great. Be as idealistic as you want to, but at your own risk; the final product is never as good as you wanted it to be or what the devs said it would be. |

Prices in MMO's were set early on when development costs were much higher. Now there is more competition and $14.95 isn't standard unless you have a top game. Above that would kill marketing. Most would pay $15.95 for a game they really like and not make a big deal out of it but around $20 there would be too much bitching. |

Laying too much hype on a game is setting yourself up for major disappointment. I've gotten to a point where I think i will not play MMO's anymore. its the whole Been thre did that thing. Tabula Rasa has that feeling, Warhammer has that feeling and vibe. plenty of them are either the same thing with different graphics or take a new direction that cant be adapted well and feel immersive. frankly the fact you would share your thoughts on this is almost scandalous and filled with treason lol.
anyone thinks a game that charges $20 a month is okay needs a smack in the head. 3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 285 GTX 1GB, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU. MSI NF980-G65 TRI-SLI MOBO. |

listen to yourselfs quibling over a few measly pounds!!! $20 whats that about £10 english pounds, to me that's only £2.50 a week, less than a pack of 10 smokes. If you enjoy the game after the first free month you usually get with a game i dont really see this being a problem. And as its a adult rated game you should earn enough that its not going to bankrupt you by paying this small fee for a great game. I do agree with the original comment that if its worth it it should be more expensive. You get what you pay for in life |

please dominit thats a silly response.damn right im gonna quibble over a few dollars (in US not the UK) no offense, just because i may have the "financial backing" to afford such a fee doesnt mean i should pay it, Its only a adult rated game due to the type of violence. Is that a reason to raise the Fee? please dude, im quite happy with $15 a month any more it starts losing its value. $15 seems to be a sweet spot not too much not too little for the amount of content, fixes, updates you receive for a given game currently. But it still remains, just because your willing to pay more, doesnt mean i am willing to. Dont encourage these Companies to charge more, because what will happen is, you find your game considerably empty or more so than it would be if it maintained its current subscription fee. As far as im concerned companies pleading poverty can kiss my arse, they make tens of millions in revenue over hand and fist depending on the quality of their game, if they dont, thats their fault due to the quality of the game, content and features. You get out, what you put in. why $20 a month how bout $5.00 more why not charge $30 a month, when will it stop? my point is, there is a fine line where a MMORPG and the amount and quality of content gets overwhelmed by the fee a company charges where it is no longer financially viable nor worth paying for the amount of content you recieve. not to mention lets not forget all the broken promises, hand me downs, and left out features games release with. SOE is notorious of leaving out content, breaking quests to keep subscribers on, and numerous other underhanded business tactics, which leaves a bad taste in consumers mouths. I trust a person only as far as i can throw them, that goes double for companies. So bottomline is, do me and rest of us who maintain realistic views on games and their fees, dont encourage these companies to charge more. because youll find that you will be playing with a far fewer people in the game. 3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 285 GTX 1GB, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU. actaully i dont get ya point, as its a bad comparison thus a bad analogy. the reason a Ferrari or a nice mercedes is more expensive is due to the materials used, how it is manufactured. such as high quality titanium, magnesium, aluminum, high quality electronics, magony and real leather interior,a highly complex, high performance engine that pumps ou 400-700 hp , high performance tires, brakes, suspension allowing for high level of speed, and manueverability, that I can understand. but trying to relate that to AOC, sorry baaddd analogy dude. other than it looking a bit prettier with Dx 10 and a few more innovative features like isaid there is no real justification for a rise in fee.besides who is to say AOC will be a ground breaking game?Dont get me wrong I like the game, it looks interesting but i know nothing other than what i have read. As Far as I am concerned there is no real reason for me to pay $20 none. and thats final lol. say what you will, justify it for yourself, but there is no way this game would be $20 unless they want to lose subscribers. trust me they would, your game will be alot less populated at $20 than $15. i say if your willing to pay $20 go nuts, have fun, but prepare to play an empty game. 3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 285 GTX 1GB, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU.
