If anything is assumed to be other than bullshit, theres something wrong with the perspective. |
I know for me that customer support will be the make it or break it if im going to buy and pay monthly subscription for a long time.
Leaving WoW was easy. And I hope Funcome will actually listen to their playerbase and not turn into some arrogant company which always knows best kinda thing. My advice would be to make forum rules so that the post would only consist of serious oppinions both bad and good, both what to keep and what to leave. The player base will be every game companys saviour in order to grow. Unfortunatly there are too many blizzard fans which does not know what kind of service they got, and they might not care at all. They are lost in the world, and takes what they get, no matter how stupid it is. I would like to call people like that Robots. Thinking doesnt hurt, does it? |

Well I saw in another topic that you think WAR is going to be the next big thing because AoC pushed its release date back to make sure the game was complete and polished. WAR will not even have official forums, only fan site forums. As far as customer service goes we will have to wait and see until the launch of the game. If you go to the official forums though, you will see the moderators and community people have answered many player questions from the forums. So here is to wishful thinking! |

Part of the reason I left WoW was customer service. Waiting hours for a GM to respond to a petition or waiting an hour or two for somebody to pick up the phone is not acceptable to me.

Funcom has stated their intention to clone their highly successful ARK program From AO and adapt it for use in AoC. First of all, you have your regular paid GMs, little out of the ordinary here. They do their best to help the customers and are the ultimate authority on the field. Then you have the ARKs. Players of the game who are full adults AND have a significant amount of personal experience with the game can volunteer for this program. They sign an NDA and then go through a lengthly training program. They are given the knowledge, and the tools, to help the paid GMs in answering petitions of all kinds. As mentioned before, the GMs remain the ultimate authority, powers such as banning and item spawns are still limited to them, even if it is an ARK that handles the petition and lets the GM know whether or not it is necessary. They do a number of other things aside from answering petitions. Every new player to the game gets one of them popping up while they are playing, offering to answer any questions they may have. Other things include everything from testing bugs and bug fixes to coordinating ingame weddings, to writing and running events. The end result is that Funcom is able to field a task force of hundreds instead of maybe a dozen. Petition wait times are extremely short. One of mine was answered less than a minute after I sent it in, the others I sent in were all answered in about half an hour. No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. |

Originally posted by fUnCoM Norway as a whole has some of the worst customer service/support Ive ever experienced. Norwegians are in general shut-ins with little interaction outside thier family and core friends. This is in stark contrast to how AO was though. Thier service was great when I played and is a testement to Funcom as a company. You shouldnt have anythig to worry about when it comes to that. If they do continue thier ARK program with AOC, that would be a great thing for everyone. For me what makes a game great is the game itself and the community playing it. If the people that join into AOC are funloving this will be a game Ill look forward to play. |
