I think FunCom is really limiting the number of players by making the game for mature audiences. While 'I' don't have a problem with it, I think many parents (myself included) will have a problem letting their pre-pubescent child play. Is there any way to make the setting optional? I mean, click a button and have the women with atleast minimal clothing?

Seems to me that the Stormcaller: should be Cimmerian or Stygian but not Aquilonian. I would reserve the worship of the 'organized gods' to the Aquilonians and the Stygians (except for Crom) and let the Cimmerians have the nature worship.

I'm really curious about "soul corruption effects" (see the description of the Dark Templar warrior class). Anyone have any idea?

Yes, Funcom Developers will have a toggle for both the gore effects and the more mature... social aspects.

As to the Stormcaller, I don't know to be honest. I knew nothing of worth about the Conan mythology before seeing this game. Been catching up, but I've got other things to do as well.

Soul corruption can have a variety of effects, one of the most notable is the chance for the mage to go "insane" lashing out at freind and foe alike, presumably, this means that the player has no control over his character during this period. Its might also mean death, and/or stat bonuses/reductions.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Funcom should add phisical wear and tear on armor and wepons, that would look cool and also add to the "real life" aspect that they seem to be so concentrated on. In a lot of games your armor shows no signs of breakage untill you look at your character panel and it say 5% of 100% if it shows it phisically you will be able to see your armor breaking as you fight.

Well i find it is a very positive thing, that Funcom is aming at a mature group of people... this will mean less greifers and lammers.. i dont say more adult people dont do those things to, im just saying that the younger crowd has a bigger tendence..

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

I don't think that Funcom came into development thinking "who can we leave out of this game," as to what niche can we fill.  There are NUMEROUS games deveoped for younger kids but few, technically 0 games for "older" gamers.  Seeing as how most MMO gamers are in their 20's i think they found the perfice niche.

1.  it is Conan... you can't have anythign Conan related wihtout some gore; i mean come on.

2. What other game can you decapitate someone (some "live" person) and get away with it!

3. I don't mean to hate but do we really want WoWians in AoC?

4. It only saddens me that there are no gnomes to decapitate.

I belive that funcom know what they are doing when spending so much time and money on this game. Theyre graphix has always been above up to date and have in earlyer games had a good story-line (like " The longest jurney" and "Dreamfall" ++) Beside they have many year MMOxp from AO. I'll trust funcom that AoC will be as good as thay say. It seems that they have "pride" in theyre work (PS. eng. is not my 1st language)

and remeber Funcom is more or less protecting thier rears by making it "m" rated.   Do you actually think this will prevent youngins from playing?   lol

Some of us want a mature game without children playing. I wont let my children play or watch me playing. FunCom made a choice here, they know they will limit their market by making this game mature. I applaud them for doing so. Adults shouldnt have all their entertainment choices boiled down to the maturity lvl of a child. Should the Sopranos have been made family friendly? I'm sure that despite the M rating there will be plenty of kids playing, it's unfortunate there are parents that are clueless and don't care what their kids consume.
