Age of Conan (aoc) is supposed to be a violent game so there should be some PVP servers where you dont have an option to avoid to get in fight with people, exept by runing away succesfuly from them  About the PVE servers i dont know, but since some people seem to like it way more that PVP, why not give paying customers what they like ?  Personaly my opignion about the permanent death in a MMO games doesnt work, after the first month of the release of AOC the Hardcore PVP server would have only the few fastest exping guys and a band of low level people trying to become something.. and 4 months after the release the server would be deserted. My opignion about server would be these: PVE PVP PVP Hardcore ?(Server where you drop a random item from your invertory when your character gets killed.) |

PvE+PvP servers=yes RP-PvP= we hope Harcore=no, you want hardcore, then delete when you die, thats a direct dev quote |

There will be also Only PVE servers ...
In fact, there will be 4( 5? ) types of servers : PVE, PVP-PVE, PVP-RP, PVP ... XBOX360 ? =) I don't know what you call hardcore... It's when there is no rez ? I would better understand the quote of the dev if this is the meaning of " hardcore " ! |

Hardcore is just a term for more difficult gameplay, in this particular case, its reffering to permadeath, a holdover from the old D&D boardgames in which your character and all of your spent time is lost upon his death. Supposedly, it makes people plan ahead and be more careful about dying. In reality, when character development takes weeks or months worth of playingtime, its a pain in the ass.

Yeah .. i can't imagine a real geek losing his char after hundreds and hundreds hours of playing ... He would probably try to burn his computer down ....

Burn his computer down I think would be the least of what they would do. Heh I think we all know how upset gamers can get! Permadeath requires a really unique enviroment to work in my opinion, and for AoC it would definitely suck. |

Sounds like they are going to institute something nasty for people who go down the 'path to the darkside' (ie. Soul Corruption). Like, literally going to hell. That would be a possibillity for certain kinds of death also. Have to fight your way back from the 'other side' so to speak. |

You are correct. The main site has stated that if you go too far in and go beyond a point of corruption, you literally go to hell and have to quest or fight your way back to the main world!
