After seeing footage of the actual game(the real graphics and not those development system pics FunCom keeps releasing) and the actual combat my interest went from very high to almost zilch. Hopefully FunCom spends the extra time fixing it up so we don't have yet another high profile flop. |

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |
You know every kid that sees that mature rating is going to snatch this game up faster than you can say "Grand Theft Auto".

I don't know if it's the immaturity of the kids that are going to be playing this game that will bother me or the fact that I'm starting to get old and they'll have faster reflexes.  |

I know nothing of this game but I read in this thread they are rendering boobies. I'm a 30 year old married man and i've been around long enough to tell you that they will sell a few copies on that fact alone. |

Man, i'm tired of all of the people accusing that all 10-13 year olds that play mmorpgs are immature, and that all of the immature people in mmorpgs are 10-13 years old. I used to stick to the same fact when i started playing mmorpgs, but then, when i started playing WoW, SWG, and EVE, i realised that almost ALL of the people are over 20! Now i do have to admit, this does not apply to FPS games (Were i've found that actually a lot of the people that are bitching all of the time are actually 10-13 years old) and that there are a few cases of immature kids acting extremely retarded in MMORGs, but infact, what many older People (20+) have forgotten, is that the amount of kids playing MMORPGs is VERY small. I'm 16 myself, and i can easily see how the popularity system at school easily discourages people from using their computer to do anything apart from AIM. Schoolalone stops kids from playing these games. Because of the popularity system that declares "If you play Online games then you can't get a girlfriend, and if you have glasses and pimples you won't get laid" etc. In school i've always never said anything about online games, except for in the slightest remarks. But what some people don't lose after they hit 20 is their immaturity, and a lot of the people that play MMORPGs are smart, and very immature, but the people that don't, are immature, and a large part of these people that don't play start to play when they see that it's fun and that the popularity thing stops right out of highschool. These people make up 90% of the 'WoW Crowd" that you're talking about, because they haven't played for long enough to learn proper in-game manners, because they think that they are invulnerable behind their computer screen. Thus they annoy you, and then start to bitch when you kil them, previeosly unknowing of what consequenses their actions can cause them in games. Sorry about my raving, just trying to get an unpopular (but true!) point across. |
