I keep reading these these forums and see lots of people swearing that their opinion is the only opinion and that everyone elses view on this game is totally wrong. As everyone knows all MMORPG's are constantly evolving - so to me anyone that hasn't played in the last 3 months surely must be giving an opinion based on old news rather than the current state of the game (for good or bad) which imo means that they should go and post on the forum of the game they are currently playing and leave this one alone. I've tried Aion, Warhammer and WoW - those games aren't for me but I don't spend all my time on their forums slagging them off - others will like them and thats their choice and I have far too much respect the right for players to decide for themselves rather than try to get everyone to hate a game just because I do. So....the question stands - many of you have strong opinions (which this thread is not the place for, so please have the courtesy not to clutter it up with this is great, this is lousy and FC is the spawn of the devil and ate my first born) - when was the last time you actually played the game for an evening or equivalent ? My Answer - Last Night - Raiding for 4hrs |

I played on sunday last time, some Halloween quests and some PvP. Just a couple of hours that day. EDIT: Actually, to go into it a little deeper, I played several hours on saturday in a group also, and did Oasis instance on Sunday with others. Quite alot of minigames now a days also. |

If we took the bones out it wouldn't be crunchy now, would it? |
Last time I played was 8/26/08 - got my barbarian to level 79 before the guild I was in completely fell apart. Would have liked to max him out and do the final destiny quest but wasn't at all interested in the grind to get there. Would like to try AoC again - maybe after the new year when I get an updated rig. |

Maybe half a year ago or something. I reactivated my account for some trial days or something, but then actually didn't even play it. My highest char was lvl 27 or something. The thing that totally bores me is the single starting area. If I feel like giving the game a try again I log in and are in that starting area (unless I'd continue with my lvl 27something) and think "oh my, not again" and log off once more. |

I played when it first came out for a couple of months. I generally thought it was a decent and certainly think people should give it a try. However I like playing healers and just felt the healing in AoC to be strange and not exactly enjoyable to play. Indeed I actually felt it easier to solo as a healer than to play in a group, which is just so wrong. So I quit. But it was a decent game and I'm certainly not knocking it. |

Started December 27th 2008 - Still playing today. Name: Valorstirke , Server: Set. 80 Aquilonian Conqueror is my main. Gear - Full T2 Raiding Armorset including T2 Weapon Guild- Prophets (http://prophetsofset.guildlaunch.com) We raid every week, w/ mains 4 nights a week. We raid pretty much every off raiding night w/ alts and host pugs on the server every other night. We enjoy the game, just salavating for T3 Raiding content, some new PVP content, and of course longer down the road - we can't wait for the expansion and T4 Raidnig content :P

Played about 3 months ago. Had to stop due to financial issues, but I would love to go back. I have 2 80's and was part of Bloodline guild on Set. I like the raiding in AoC. Had a HoX so I spent most the raid trying to out parse everybody, and for a toon with half T1 and only a crummy blue sword I parse in the top 5 every time. I more then likely will resub soon, once the new expansion gets closer. S.C.I.F.I |

My g/f and I returned a second time afew months ago and enjoyed it for awhile. We left for AION but overall AoC is a fairly polished MMO with plenty of content. For someone new to the game I'm sure theyd enjoy it. The combat system alone is worth checking out. Good luck!! "Kings of typos" ^^ EDIT: typo... AKA "Hater of haters" |

When was the last time you played AoC ?? I haven't yet, unfortunately the social gaming group I'm in (Originally an Everquest hardcore raiding outfit & now multi-game tourists par excellence) had started in it, gotten fed up, & quit before I got around to trying it out. If they ever went free to play I'd dive into it & try it immediately, but I can't afford to go trying stuff out in the hopes it will be my kind of game, and the trial just isn't extensive enough to judge an MMO by when my network has already given up on it. If I was in the position financially to be able to afford the risk of trying it out I probably would. About 2 months ago. I really liked the game, tried a bunch of different chars. I like quest leveling (WoW spoiled me ... I can't MOB grind and have fun any more) and found a quest hole at around level 35. I tried to go back to the other "Just out of Tortage" areas and found quests that were too low for my level. Sure, I could do them and get the experience, but going around one-shoting stuff to finish a grey quest line didn't do it for me. Made me lose confidence that the rest of the game wasn't the same. Might try again after RoTGS. Might be a smoother leveling experience. |

Last played in the spring of this year and I haven't gone back to sub. Three times trying to love this game was enough for me. There are better mmo days ahead for all of us. |

Played a few months ago the last time. Decided to take a break till 1.6 because of the real life and got also a bit bored with the game. But I'm coming back in a month for sure. Age of Conan has lots of problems but it is no doubt the best MMO out there and I have experienced all the big fishes out there. AOC! |

Thanks for the replies guys - makes really interesting reading. I'll be the first to agree that some games do not suit some players - in my case I tried Warhammer for 48 hours and I'll never go back regardless of how much they improve the game, or whether they offer a free trial and cookies - its not that I think its a bad game its just that I didn't like the feel of it. I cleared Wing 1 and 2 last night with my necro who hasn't raided BRC before, so after coming 11th on the DpS I'll have plenty to do practicing and playing with my feats to improve that ranking for the next few weeks (only died once in 7 downed bosssed, and each boss was downed first time so don't laugh too much at my terrible dps please :)) |

I havemn't play in over 6 months. I have a lvl 80 Dark Templar...meh. Coming back to forums to decide if i should activate my account. I currently play wow. I have to say i enjoyed play AoC from lvl 1-80 better than WoW. Just there endgame didn't keep me around. I have plans to come back one day. |

I still play occasionally. I also generally play a healer and that automatically places me at odds with AoC's system. I solo most of the time and with the weak hot's and such, I really get bored very quickly. It is still beautiful to look a though. |

When was the last time I played AOC?? Today. I logged off two hours ago to get something to eat. I was working on getting my barbarian alt. out of Tortage. |

I been playing since release. Yes, I endured the early memory leak problems and survived. Game isn't for everyone, that's for sure. I would say the combat system is the best of any MMO out there now. Though the lack of an auto-attack may put off some of the more "lazy" gamers. I admit that I am a fan of Howard's original Conan stories so I may be a tad biased. Funcom did a good job of translating his works into a game. Last patch they added a new single group dungeon The Iron Tower. Currently our guild is going through that on days we aren't raiding or don't have enough people on to raid. |
