Be nice if it was a current review. But that review was done when the game first came out. I am curious on how they would rate the game today.

Ooops. It really must be getting late. I'm stuck at work here until 2am and I guess the mind starts to go! Yeah but anyway, the game is stil vastly improved and it deserves alot better from players than it has been getting.

The problem is with games, mmo's espeially is that they get one chance to prove themselves (not counting EVE). If they fail to impress at release most players will never return and any new players interested reading old info won't start.

Look at Vanguard, That game has improved a lot and yet they can't get a large player base.

Unfortunately that is how it goes.

hah hah if that reviewer gave it a 8.5 at release it must have been on a one to 100 scale because thats about how many players are left out of ever 100 that purchased it.

Seriously I bet that guy who did that review feels like a real fool now.

I miss DAoC

Games that have bad launches (AoC / Vanguard) do struggle to attract players afterwards. People are usually once bitten twice shy.

Now, I really liked the graphics and the quests in AoC so I was willing to come back. I had to do alot of convinving to get even a couple of my rl buddies to come back thou.

Still playing after all this time. .I am enjoying the endgame very much...believe it or not..especially since the latest patch.

AoC did something opposite of what other MMO's are doing...while they get easier for the kiddies (Aion is one good example..my 10 y.o. son loves it), AoC got more difficult...

Challenge equals longevity in my book...and more fun to be had.

Also, all levels have full content, another bonus.

I am glad I stuck it out.

Umm, you said that AoC was the first game you actualy hit max level in an MMO, not hard to deduce that you don't have a lot of experience with other 'end games'.

Rather curious why the posting of a year old review even mistakenly hasn't been locked by moderators.

Locked: Mistakenly posted out of date content as current.
