*yaaawn*

When are people gonna stop yelling like it's doomsday? The patch brought with it some unbalances, it's not like balance was perfect in the first place. They're working on it, they've even said that they realize that casters are OP and that they're looking to amend that. If someone unsubbed in rage after 1 or 2 days i doubt they would've stayed long in the game anyhow.

I find it rather rediculous that people can get so caught up in either "hating" or "fanboying" over a game, this is not a match between your rivaling sportsteams. It's entertainment, som enjoy one game and some another.

I believe the patch as a whole and the overhaul of the rpg system was very much needed for the game to have a more lasting appeal to people, right now im enjoying it and hope they can build from there to keep the game entertaining. I'd hate to have to go get Aion on the release date, Im so tired of mmo launches :p

Well I can start by saying that they've really nerfed my class (PoM), before patch I could solo 3-4 mobs of my level quite easily, but now I can only solo 1-2 and even then its a struggle because now I run out of mana a lot quicker than I did before.

I would feel justified in saying that I hate patch 1.05, but I wont because I love the new patch. It has made me re-think the way I play my character and I feel now that PoM is now exactly what it is supposed to be, a great healer and a fairly weak DPS class.

As I said at the start of the post this is my opinion and I am extremely happy with what the new patch brings to the game.

Yet they insisted, before and after the game was released that healers would not be the pansies you see in other MMO's.  Seems to me they're selling out and jumping on the EQ / WoW bandwagon of uber classes feeding on the crappy support classes.  Might be fun for hardcore masochists, but you're going to see a huge drop in people playing support classes now.

People are not leaving in masses due to the itemization revamp but instead how poorly the classes are balanced post 1.05.

The feedback was there before the update went live, I was there on TL and the concerns were ignored.

My class is a mess, so are others and thats why you see such a decline, especially on a pvp server... its ridiculous atm.

They have stated they will be re-balancing classes, we will see.

This is 1 account they lost the night of 1.05 off Wicanna (PVE) and the PVPRP server.  80 guard, did a villa the night before and did fine.  Next day, couldn't take on more than 2 NPCs with a full tank spec.  I did not leave for unequal PVP,  I didn't get that far.

I, personaly had more than enough game CHANGES with SWG.  If I wanted that, I'd pay Sony.

It seems like gameing cos do not watch or even listen to history.  AoC done very well with their launch, account wise.  As other posters noted, the game was just NOT ready for launch.  I was there for the 1st 3 months.  Crash to desktop almost every time you zoned.  Then came the NERFS.  Many exploits that they just didn't fix the sploits, they NERFED the entire class.  (Guard, again)  Cancel time #1.

Came back to AoC a couple of months ago to give it another try.  Was actualy getting used to the gameplay and guards were not NERFED beyond all comprehension, this time.  Then came 1.05.  No CU/NGE/C6CD (pick one - for me it was more like C6CD) for me, again.  Cancel time #2.  These game developers think they can CHANGE a game enough to save it and it happens the same exact way, every time a gameing company tries it.

Rubenfield's Blog on SWG - NGE developer, had 1 great statement in it...... "can you change a game after launch?"  He answered his own question, "no".

You all still playing, or that like the CHANGES, good luck and enjoy the game.  I'm not going to pay SOE or Funcom for NERFS and game CHANGES.  It's seems the OP statement has more people, like me, out there, also.

Glad to see a Player Advocate being candid about the situation, the other Advocate  who cuts-n-pastes posts here labeled those player concerns as 'QQing' (his words not mine), and claims people unsubscribing over the issue are a minority.  Sounds like maybe he is not being honest about the effects of the revamp is having.

Compareing stats before 1.05 and after, player count in 24 hour period on same week day as dropped 60% and still declineing. Seems like pvp people are unhappy with this new patch. It's a shame since the patch has good itemization and tweaks, but the pvp balance is worse than ever. I hope they will fix it.

no, i think they are actually up by 38.25% ...

First, the patch has been on Test Live for over 2 months.

Second, the amount of people actually bothering doing any serious testing on Test Live during those 2 months could almost be counted on 2 hands. Most people just buffed to 80, checked for 30 mins and started QQ'ing all over the Test Live forums ever since. Not exactly reliable data.

Third, and because of that, they had no other choice then to decide to roll out the patch to the Live Servers (has to happen sometime) to get the amount of statistics they need.

Fourth, the timing of the patch is nonetheless bad timing anyway, as everyone is going on holiday, already is, or about to any time soon.

I am no longer subbed to AoC (as my gf just likes EQ2 better lol), but I am subbed to EQ2 and LOTRO atm.

In both these games there is a decline in activity now too. Wich is perfectly normal, as it's Summer Holidays... so guess what people are doing or about to do? That's right! They drop their subs and go on Holiday!

Not everyone is a nerd living in mommy's basement, playing games all summer in the dark, while the sun is shining outside.

Cheers

When www met dot , they then stumbled upon Secret Society , wich happened to be a Guild , wich in turn told dot about the net .

Firstly-- Then you'd think FC had time to get it right!

Secondly- People are already paying a sub for a game still virtually in bata, so you think they should continue to pay for a second level of bata. Here's my wallet FC....Please let me pay to Bata test a game in Bata-that's an LOL-point my man.

Thirdly--Makes you wonder why FC even has a TL sever since this arguement is always regurgitated when ever a failed product comes out of testlive.

Fourthly- With the 12-13 year old leet speaking, Kool-Aid drinkers that infest AoC, Im pretty sure the opposite would hold true. But I can tell you that in EvE and WoW the populations seem to grow more dense during the summer. Probably because people have more spare time. Heck I can make statements like yours about winter. EG: (Why are all the nerds inside their "mother's basement" and not out Skiing....That's it..Aoc is a Train wreck and is being boycotted because everyone is skiing...it's winter---lol)

Fifthly, sun will give you skin cancer and causes premature aging.  Avoid at all costs. Watch the news when you and your GF aren't rocking out on EQ2....or ummm getting sun? Which ever it is.

Fury Forums:  so guys! are you happy with class balance?

I see more people posting enjoying the patch over 4 pages than those that don't.

Being a PvP server as some of those posts linked pointed out, the design is not around dueling in Khesh. But there will be a re-balance patch next week if testing goes ok. (As a heads up)

Locked:

Using anecdotal observations as the basis for making statements of fact doesn't leave any room for constructive dialogue to take place. Closing down this and related thread regarding populations on Tyranny.

On the whole human beings want to be good, but not too good, and not quite all the time.
