Why does this game take so damn long to download?

You don't get really good graphics out of 100 mb installs. You are playing a video game. By definition that means you are not hardcore.

The files from this site mmorpg.com were downloading for me the other day at 350k+. I was testing it for a poster that thought the links here were broken. Course I don't know how much you would have to patch from the client here. Other than that crafting is more of a side note, it is there, just not nearly as complex or deep as SWG. As for DX10 I found it rather decent looking, it must be pointed out it is only a test mode of 10, so there are bugs that come along with it. The game is huge, not only from the graphics and high quality textures but the loads of quests. It felt very odd downloading aion at just over 6 gigs. You can tell the diffrence in lack of quests and low res textures....however some cool ambient effects in aion. mabey you should try a comp restart then resume dl... or just do it overnight and though the morning.
