I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but in my opinion, AoC wasn't marketed based on it having 'mature content'. It was based on sensationalism of it having female tits and was aiming straight for the crowd that was not supposed to be able to play it: young, teenage males. The way that FC advertised the features in their game was immature.

There's a huge difference between selling a game because of boobies and selling a game because of mature content. Men and women are both sexual creatures and something like female tits shouldn't be a major selling point anyway.

If this had been a game truly marketed for adults and a mature audience, FC would have said 'there are mature themes such as nudity, sexuality, and gory violence' and concentrated on telling us what other kinds of content would have been in the game, such as their PvP system, their siege system, etc.

They would have also realised that there was no way in hell they would be able to compete with WoW for numbers of subs, and just stuck with the Conan universe as it was in the books.  Instead, they made a big fuss about boobies! Woopdy doo!

I feel bad for those AoC players who bought the game for the Conan universe if FC does change the content. I think we've all been misled.

Yes in wow you see:

Its obvious Molok just wants the pixel boobs in an mmo to make up for his insecurities.

Boobs, Blood and Violence dont make mature by just having them, its the undetones, and the tangible mix up in how its presented.

Its obvious some people don't get these themes when the rest of us do. They can be funny, serious and moral including running themes you wont find in a teen title.

Try doing the quest for Sektep's head, and see the hilarity of the quest givers conversation : " My thighs sweat in the heat of your enthusiasm. Use that to bring me Sektep's head! "

The mix up in the way the dialogue is presented is pretty funny throughout the game.

One of the main quest dialogue writers came from Mongoose Pen and paper to work for FC. Ask yourself next time you play, what would Conan do when you choose what to do, and you will see from that perspective if you knew about the lore, if not it doesnt matter.

The two most mature things I've run across in this game were the woman in the Mitra temple in Tesso that had been Raped by a large number of Nemedians, and the bandit in Thunder River who's barely alive and in...rather rough shape (those who have done it know the quest).

Do you see the difference - instead of thongs they have sashes around waist now = more sexy clothing - still topless. This is for the patch where the notes you were so quick to judge are happening - this is the result - now sleep easy lil man.

Conan himself had a 'harem' and reflected on the naked delights in the story "The Scarlet Citadel", chapter 3 paragraph 3. Check it out. FC stay true to the themes of the lore -  you have been proven wrong yet again.

Actually M$ have had guys over at FC for the past few years for long periods of time "consulting"

Games For Windows / DX10 / and XboX talk.

Its just the 360 it will be on.
