Certainly doesn't sound good and definitely not a company I want to spend money on.

They are not "restricting pre-order customers" they had a limited number of early access spots, for whatever reason. You can pre-order and get the pre-order items.

When the pre-order  box from Best Buy CLEARLY states that you get the war rhino AND early access with no mention of a limitation until you read the code card inside that says "some restrictions may apply".... that's restrictive and clearly a scam.

"Cursed Be Iron."

I accidently got two early access keys from my retailer and I gave one to my friend yesterday to join in Hyboria tomorrow. He had no problems on registering and getting the client with all the early access goodies. Weird that there is some sort of limit for people to enter in EA, or did they just remove it?

As far as the pre-order box from Best Buy is concerned... Pre-ordering and Early Access are one in the same.

the only thing Ive seen stated is they had tens of thouands for EA

could be 20k or more -- who knows?

forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php

We had to set that limit to allow the tens of thousands of registered players to download the client and get access to the game on the 17th of May.

Whys everyone blaming Funcom? Eidos is the publisher, they are the ones that tell Play, Amazon ect what to put on there website they don't deal with Funcom.

Then take issue with BestBuy.

No they are not one in the same. Its funny that so many people here get it and understand this and you don't. I will admit that the box implies this but you NEVER go by what something says without reading the fine print.

Are you going to go complain about every company that puts the details in the fine print? I have been burned by this before but not for $10 but for hundreds. I do not understand the anger here.....ANYTIME you pre-order you take a risk. There is a risk involved and you should taken it upon yourself that you needed to read the fine print.

And NO where on the box does it guarantee you Early Access. Period. The box tells you that details are inside. WHY Best Buy decided to put it in a box, I have no idea. Gamestop didn't, it was just a card. But regardless if you have an issue with the bix, take it up with Best Buy and not Funcom because the box seems to be Best Buy's decisions as no other retailer I know of used it.

That key is for your in game item, it also gives you the CHANCE to get early access. It isn't promised and never was,

That's nice and all that yours says taht, however the one I recieved explicitly states " Early Access is a benefit of the pre-order" Nowhere on here does it say that there is "Limited Access" or that you "might" be able to access it. Also, there was no announcement on the website where it says to look "registration page". So yeah, some of us have a right to be pissed.

True, yet it says "You may begin downloading the game client software and installing as early as May 14th". The word "may" is a not a guarantee, then it goes on to say "Some restrictions apply, see registration page for details". Also after reading this "There is a nominal fee of $5 that covers the cost of the download and includes 10 days of additional game time". After reading that it should've been clear you weren't purchasing early access with your pre order, yes?

Most logical people would've thought "Hmm I may get it and have to pay for it seperately and restrictions apply, I probably don't get it guaranteed now". Even those that didn't check it and didn't get into early access would look back and say "Oh well
