The link is for their forums, if you read through before they locked it you can see that they have the same or more distaste to this as we did.

i just went to the link....its not good for a company to do this considering they had a decent playerbase. I imagine this will have a HUGE impact on to the STO project. Poor PE...hahahaha looks like they might as well pack up shop while they are ahead...

The communication from Perpetual is horrible. No one should ever buy a game from these creeps.

Whats worse is that they closed down all sorts of things the day they canceled GnH. Then people made a tribute thread on the forums and they shut that down and completely said screw you to the fans there. Why did they need to shut down the forums, I mean many people who pre ordered want answers coming back to that forum and getting nothing because they shut it down.

I think this post in that thread sums it up quite nicely....

Dear Perpetual,

You suck.

Whatever can be said about the game, mostly everyone was a little upset they couldn't get a hold of people they got to know there when the forums shut down. The best part of that game was it's community.

Did everything just taste purple there for a second?

PE are nuts if they think MMO gamers will forget this. SOE know how long MMO gamers can hold a grudge. STO will feel some of this stink I guarentee.

The only good thing about that was seeing some of the most diehard fanbois in denial. You coudn't make an objective post on the boards about anything without having the same handfull of rabid fans chiming in and going on the defensive. Was very annoying

Still, they also had a good number of people who were really hyped about the game, but also very critical. They lost themselves a good community there. Can only hope that they don't pull the rug out from under their dev team next time around.

Thanks for that link I was able to post to the thread after logging in and clicking the link provided here.  At least I could say my piece and tell my fellow gamers goodbye and thanks.

If the investors stopped giving them money for GnH then they have to stop it, I don't know why everyone is so pissed about it, it was a pretty decent game that needed lots of work.

True that. I think they have done a pretty big mistake. Very very big. When they realize that, it will be too late.

In a way this kind of shocks me.  I beta tested GnH, thought it sucked, but I could definitally see potential in it.

I will tell you what though, hopefully we will see companies think twice before creating a  MMO.  Sigil, now PE have proved us that copy paste is getting a bit dull.  What next?  Nothing can surprise me from now on.  AoC re-writes their game?  EA pulls the plug on WAR like they have in the past games?  Tabula Rasa bought out by SOE?  The MMO world seems like a huge gamble to most companies.  What happened to the originality?  Are developers really getting that greedy for money?  We need more games like the God Fathers of this genre.  We need more variety like UO / EQ1/ AC / DAoC.  Make a game fun like WoW did.  Most importantly all of the gamers here, MMO lovers should learn a lesson, weather you followed GnH or not.  Don't get your hopes up for anything.  Don't get your hopes up for AoC or WAR or the next 'WoW', because bascially things can and will happen.  It's good to see games get delayed because of 'tighting' things up, but it could mean worst too.  I don't want to get too deep into this rant, but as of right now I don't see AoC going too far.  Nuff said from me.  The only games I trust are the ones that I enjoy and play at the moment.

Nice to know they're all choking on crow now.  Until they find some other game they can defend with their blind illogic.

its a shame that this had to happen to another MMO game.  I only kept one eye on this game as personally it didnt seem to have enough to capture my full interest.

We cannot forget that costs for creating a brand new MMO in todays market can practically crucify a small start up company.  First Sigil, now PE.

Only the big names have enough money to throw at games these days to give them semi-decent graphics engines and all the other stuff that todays market craves.  This is how games like Vanguard managed to cheat death.

Unfortunately this means that although such large companies CAN churn out decent MMO's (depending on your point of view), they also have a strangle hold on the MMO market.  Which means that if THEY dont like the style of a game, it wont be released.  Regardless of whether its new or different.

For better or worse, the almighty dollar speaks volumes for a variety of reasons.
