To anyone thinking of returning, all I have to say is:

"Come on back in! The waters fine!"

I've been back for about two months now after a 7 year absence, and I've been having an absolute blast! I've relearned how to play the game and started catching up on 7 years worth of lore and quests. People on the server are extremely helpful and they answered my noob returning player questions without being insulting. Wow, what a change! Oh, yeah, there is global and allegiance-wide chat available.

I logged back in as a lvl 85 UA gimp who had started a non-extreme template. Since then I've been able to change my attributes and skills at will in order to come up with a template that I think works for my play style.

Since being back I've been gaining a level or 2 a day, so now after roughly 6 weeks of play I'm level 137. Thats 52 levels in 42 days. Nice, very nice. Not like the old days when it was hard to level.

So, download the game, check out the free trial and come on back for the 10th Anniversary of Asheron's Call!

And Welcome Home!

Just got the trial myself. Played a little bit back in... '99 or '00, can't remember exactly. Stayed up all night playing. I have very little clue as to what I'm doing in regards to character building (trying a simple, easy 'sword and board' tank build first) and am still having fun. Just wish I wouldn't run out of stamina so damn fast.

Oh, and screw drudges. Furry, meowing murlocs is what those things are.

Turbine really does need to take a serious look at updating this. Seeing that portal/loading screen again brought back a lot of memories :)

Westwood Studios, Bullfrog Productions, Origin Systems, Pandemic Studios, Maxis, and Bioware. What do all of these fine game studios have in common?

They made innovative, fun, and popular games. They were communicative with fans and greatly appreciated them.

Also, they were all killed by EA. People, for the future of gaming, please do not buy EA products.
