It would only make sense to Re-Release it.  Throw some advertising with all the LOTRO ads you been doing... a little snippit would make it cheaper and cost efficient.  

Reasons why it is very possible to do a relaunch of this old game:

1.  Its been 8 years now sinces its bad launch.  Lots of new players that  WOW brought into the MMO genre never even played AC2 and would probably give it a shot.  Lots forgot how it was at launch.  So the negativity that lied around AC2 would pretty much be little to none.

2.  The graphics of AC2 in 2002 are still high grade compared to tons of the Current MMOs today.  Grass that blows in the wind (we are talking about grass you can actually hide in if everybody had their grass turned on).  Shoreline affects on water.  Still  a beautiful scenic world.  movement effects the water.  Beautiful music.  to go with the beautiful scenery.

3.  There is still a HUGE fanbase of players begging to play AC2 once again.  just from those players you would be able to fill a server alone.  I could mention something here about a project but we all know its happening but if you take a look at how many players waiting for it to finish... EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE said THEY WOULD come to a LIVE SERVER in a heartbeat if it opened.  

4. the market is flooded with poor MMOs.  AC2 relaunch in its polished state would be a godsend to the MMO genre. 

5. having a TURBINE PASS or some sort of all in one payment for all games turbine has would be a possible way to get the servers some pops on all your games.    Or making AC2 free to play with a shop even though i hate shops with a passion.  But I feel a P2P AC2 server can do well if it was relaunched.

6.  AC1 is pretty dead when i tried the trial not long ago but you quickly gave up on AC2 and closed it down.  I think making a package deal with AC1 and AC2 might be another way to go. 

7.  Lots of players are in search for a decent MMO nowadays including me who cant find one.  Im bored out of my mind with all the other MMOs.  Since the graphics are good in AC2 it could stand a chance and grab some of those players searching.

8. what do you really have to lose?  start one server up... if its fills make another... and so on.  If you cant fill one server.  Flip the off switch.  combine your advertising... you seem to do a lot with DDO and LOTRO... well add in a snippet of AC2... be more cost efficient.

One server with low maintenance and low staff and some advertising with MMORPG.com and snippets with DDO and LOTRO... if it becomes successful you go from there. 

mm!this game could be re-lunched but in a f2p format !because asia could literaly flood the game !they love those game ,as for english speaker im sorry to say if it isnt new we froun on it!so the only way to re-launch an old title is bring it in the free to play market!hell if perfect world and all those company can make a living in the f2p zone it means there is a market for it

and ac2 is better then most game they play there thats for sure

but re-release as is !they might as well send the money to haiti so they can burn it to keep warm!

it would be new to a lot of players.  relaunch with ad campaigns have worked and still work.  this game is different then others.  it has not been online for 5 years.  so it would resemble a new game depending on the ad dept and how they promote it.

<p>I still find the expansion of AC2 in some gamestop store. When I told the seller, they say, they haven't called it back, so we keep selling it, and me to tell them, yeah, but no one can play. </p>
