Nexon has the worst customer service. I spent an hour trying to make an acount but it never sent me a verification email. I kept resending it but it is dumb. I still cant make an account or play any games. I just want to play combat arms. I cant contact them because I cant make an account! The staff of nexon are a bunch a lazy fat guys that cant even send me a verification code.

MapleStory is a great game if you have the time and effort to put into it. The game is very difficult for new players because you're starting without any money or items. Although that's present in many other mmorpgs as well, in MapleStory you must put a lot of time and effort in making money and upgrading your gear. MapleStory has great graphics, good background music, considerable community... the customer service and performance aren't good though. The game can lag a lot when there's a lot of players present in your area, and customer service takes way too long to respond. The game's quests and gameplay experience can get very boring and tedious because of how difficult it is to level up at higher levels, and also because quests are very difficult as well. Many require you to hunt or collect items, while others just require you to deliver stuff, which means you've got to go to far away areas just to deliver an item, then return to the guy that gave you the quest for his reward. While the reward can be good and worth the effort you've put into finishing the quest itself, merchanting or just hunting for good drops would be more profitable at times. As for me, I've played MapleStory for over 3 years now, and have quit recently because of how negatively it has changed over the last year or so. While Nexon, the company behind MapleStory, updates the game a lot and add a lot of new content and stuff to the game, they have also added unnecessary stuff such as new stats and options for items, and many other things which I can't remember. Nexon know how to take care of games and both MapleStory and Nexon has amazing potential, but they're forgetting one important thing in games: Fun.

As far as my review goes, I've played maple story on and off for about 5 years now. I can see major changes in gameplay and this game has evolved a lot. The introduction of numerous classes as well as content makes this game at least worth a 8 rating. I find that everytime I come back to maple, i end up having a great time with my real life friends and random friends i meet ingame. The community is wonderful for the most part, the occasional scammer, but what mmo doesn't have those? I've had absolutly no lag playing Maple in all those years of on and off playing. I've played on the crappiest possible windows 98 and windows 7, and both ran smoothly.
The sound was one thing I found annoying, I preferred to put my own music then the actual games music itself. But I think if you can accept that this game is 2d and give it a good shot, you'll be surprised at how much fun you have playing this childish 2d scroller =)

I got hooked for 4 years in this game because it was my first online game. Once I get to know other games, Maple seemed like a joke. The game requires large amount of grinding, it also does a good job in keeping players interested with various items. Jobs are not very balanced, but it's reasonable. Costumer support is the best I have seen. The game is targeted for age 10-15 if I remembered correctly, so expect loads of beggars, hackers, and those kids running around KSing people. I do not recommend it. People go get hooked easily and get their brain cells massacred, but they always regret afterward. So don't even start.
