The folks at Dungeons&Dragons Online have posted a new dev journal which looks at the artistic vision behind Shavarath, the Plane of Battle.

Hi, I’m DDO Art Lead Jeff De Puy. We have been working very hard to imbue our content with a sense of the raging combat that is happening on Shavarath, the Plane of Battle. Our team of artists has put as much visual narrative of this struggle as they can into what players will see around them in Module 9.

The Lands of Shavarath

Three factions cohabitate the Plane of Battle - Devils, Demons, and Archons - fighting an eternal war for control of the landscape. Everywhere are the signs of skirmishes, from the remains of the dead littering the landscape, to the terrible instruments of warfare dotting the ruined hills. The epic conflict between these three dangerous factions permeates the region as far as the eye can see.
