  • Turbine Rescinds Offer Wall Due to Player Feedback

    The overwhelmingly negative feedback from players has led to Turbine pulling the plug on the newly released Offer Wall feature. Many of the complaints revolved around the lack of security of the Offer Wall, as it had been reported to be transmitting players' login names and e-mail addresses simply for viewing the offers. Turbine admits that the Offer Wall was "a poor user experience that was not up to our standards, and for this we apologize." As a result, the Offer Wall has been taken down.

  • New DDO Offer Wall Sparks Fan Outrage

    Yesterday, Turbine debuted a new feature of their website, the DDO Offer Wall. The Offer Wall was setup to allow DDO players the ability to earn Turbine Points for use in the DDO Store through a variety of sponsored lead-in style offers. There are a few key problems with the feature, however, namely that according to users on the forums the Offer Wall was transmitting gamers' account names and e-mail addresses simply by looking at the page, among other issues.

    Turbine has announced that Update 4 for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited is now live. This latest update features a new adventure pack called "Sentinels" that is chock-full of zombie pirate fun for the whole family!

  • Update 4 Patch Notes Released

    Patch notes for the soon to be released Update 4 are now available at the DDO Compendium. Update 4 will feature a new adventure pack called "Sentinels" where players will join the eponymous Sentinels group in an effort to rid the land of an undead pirate scourge. Along with the aforementioned adventure pack, Update 4 also includes the typical myriad of changes, tweaks, and fixes one would expect with any major update.

  • Half Orcs, Guild Housing Announced

    A new State of the Game letter for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited has revealed some interesting information on the future of DDO. With regards to the near future, Update 4, which contains a new adventure pack called "Sentinels" is now available for preview on the Lamannia test server. But how about the rest of 2010? Turbine has some plans that are sure to excite DDO fans, namely the introduction of guild housing and a new playable race: the Half Orc!

  • Over One Million New Players

    Turbine has announced that since relaunching as a hybrid free-to-play/subscription MMOG in September of last year the game has added over one million new players, more than doubling the game's original population. Turbine is also announcing the success of the DDO Store, with the rate of transactions since the September re-launch tripling the industry average, and adding over 500% to the franchise's revenue.

    Turbine has announced an ew Valentine's Day Screenshot Contest, which challenges fans to submit their best screenshots along with brief descriptions in a number of categories. The best submissions from each category will win 500 Turbine points. The contest runs from February 10th to February 21st, with a deadline for submissions set for midnight EST on February 22nd.

  • Update III Now Live!

    Turbine has announced that Update III for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited is now live! This latest update to Turbine's hybrid free-to-play/subscription based MMOG makes some fairly significant changes to the game. One such example is the removal of Leveling Sigils, allowing non-paying players to hit the level cap without having to pony up cash or go through a grind. Update III also adds four free new dungeons, two new events, and a night version of Stormreach.
