Turbine has announced that Update III for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited is now live!
This latest update to Turbine's hybrid free-to-play/subscription based MMOG makes some fairly significant changes to the game. One such example is the removal of Leveling Sigils, allowing non-paying players to hit the level cap without having to pony up cash or go through a grind.
Update III also adds four free new dungeons, two new events, and a night version of Stormreach.
For full details on the update, read the patch notes here.
We've also got a small batch of screenshots from the update, which you can view in our DDO gallery.
bring Raid. lotsa bugs.
In my opinion DDO is the best f2p game on the market today.
Great update.
DDO is great. Smooth gameplay, great graphics, and an immersive atmosphere. After doing numerous disappointing MMO trials I can't understand how a free game can be so good.
I was very skeptical of DDO since it was first announced and so stayed away from it all this time. For some reason I decided to give it a try a couple of days, following the news of the new update.
I must admit that I was positively surprised. Especially for someone like, with limited time available, nowdays, is a great way to spend pleasantly a few hours whenever I feel like it and time allows it.
And as it was pointed out above, it is a great F2P game and a great choice for the casual, time-wise, MMO crowd.
Don't forget it was originally developed as pay to play game and was so for 3(?) years or so until they changed the model. The EU version is still p2p since it is operated by Codemasters.
The speed of new content is quite impressive, especially as some people had doubts it would ever increase, even with the F2P move.
