This will be a great class to play.

I'm not sure about the wings until I see them in game, but another healing class is always good.

I think you will need 2400+ Favor to unlock this class.  Meh it took me forever to just unlock the 32 point build to make a slightly stronger toon (750 favor I think).

I'm really not looking forward to the f2p model.

I played FS in NWN2 and it was awesome, FS is for Clerics as Sorcerer are for mages.

Hey, I don't understand :|. You can still pay sub if you want. You will get whole game with everything that is there and additional things like shared bank for all your characters, so you won't need to use mail for transfering items, and save bank / backpack space...

F2P is win-win here .

/Agree with Sarr

How can the f2p option be a bad thing?

I agree, druid should have been added before FS. Hell, even warlock.

This class doesn't have wings : ). Easy. It's just a graphic effect for one of DDO spells, probably the "Leap of Faith" here .

I think Druids aren't too far away. Obviously engine works better now, so maybe they're able to handle shapeshifting (animal forms).

this F2P method seems good,, other games limit your level to like 10  so  its basicly an all or nothing  (pirates of the carabean)  its much more effective to keep the main path clear   and have venders along the way  it is much more likely that players will continue to play as well as continue to buy things.

though when I tried DDO back at release  it was SMALL  not much bigger than a city  and to me that is NOT D&D  and it was a cluster of instances  so  the world was boringly static  and thats NOT D&D either

I am an explorer/discoverer  but I want to be able to shift the world   not just keep riding the same never changing park rides

few games if any bother to factor in a mutable/shiftable world  if bandits control the north road today  they will still be in control of the road in a year or 5 years  nothing the player does changes that, players dont have the control or the choice  the GM does so  it makes any quests agains the brigans pointless   (D&D is supose to be all about player choice and freedom that was the draw of the table game  and MMOs still fail to recognise this.)

sugestion:  have 2-3  competing  forces   overlap  so you beat back the brigans  maby orcs  become primary or drow  so you feel like you really acomplished something  so the next group through will fight orcs and maby the brigans will return.)

its really not that hard  it just take a bit of effort and willpower.

I could even live with a bit of fudging on things like that   just  have a visual effect of an animal  but stay in human form just with some buffs  for speed and  melee damage  ect

I just think that  spells  based on nature and weather  would make a great charactor  but  I would sugest thay are able to wear light? armor (leather)  similar to the rangers  and use ummm  staves and skimatars and sickles?   this is generally to offset some of their powers not available underground.

if they ever do druid ill be one of the first to try them out.

Yeah, many Druid effects and spells are hard to recreate without making it funny in dunegons. Think about lightning strike, spell famous in  Baldur's Gate - it just won't work underground.

But hey, I like exploring as well. And that's another reason why I like DDO. For example, check this vid I made in last beta:

can anyone tell me if D&D has gotten much bigger?  or are they still prety much the city  and a few other locations

i mean ive seen the world map   and the DDO total play area was smaller than manhatten island   at first I thought that I was missing  something  then i realised soon after that I was not to my dissapointment.

they need to have at least the entire contenent to explore and adventure in

Fav Soul in DDO will be gimped.. they are removing several spells so the Cleric players do not feel too much annoyed..

Of course there are no wings in Fav Souls.. the devs, as usual, twisted the core rules again and made up some Angel like feature to try to give the class a biblic and more divine sense.. the Divine Gimped One..

Not only most of Xen'Drik (continent) is covered in game (via quests or explorable areas, like in vid above), but also different planes of existance, like Shavarath, where you can find demons, devils, archons and some more neutral folks.

Fear not, there's enough content now. At the launch 3 years ago, as far as I know, game was smaller about 10 times, or so I heard. I've played for 2 years to date.

I tried this game at launch and was disappointed with 1) size and limit of the game [heavy instances and group heavy for beginners] and 2) Was not a familiar setting[World] such as Grey Hawk.  Forgotten Realms would have been welcome but as I understand its changed also.  Eberon is ok, but I didn't see it leading to the classic places of my PnP days.

Sarr, thanks for helping me to understand that this game has evolved to be better.  Will I try it?  Possibly on a more casual basis.  F2P is a big plus towards that.

I'm glad I could help. In fact, I'm sometimes very casual player as well. And as I don't need to pay subscription anymore, it will make a differance to me - less money spent.

Other than that, yeah, I'd love if DDO was settled in Greyhawk. But to be honest, I never gave Eberron a chance until recently. I've read Player's Guide and Campaign Setting for Eberron 4e - and I am impressed. This world is really great setting, very interesting, very D&Dish and filled with adventure hooks everywhere. Very diverse world of intrigue and amazing events / place.

So if anyone has a chance to read either Player's Guide to Eberron or Eberron Campaign Setting, I really encourage to try it. It resembles old settings like Spelljamer, Dark Sun or Mystara in some ways. By no means it is weird for D&D, but  it was to me before I've read it. Now it's going to be my next setting for pen&paper D&D, really hooked me.
