And the Scimatar is so much better than the rapier. Who wants wants to look and act like a fairy poking things all the time?

:P The scimitar is good if you're using one weapon (perfect substitute for the longsword) but if you're using 2 weapon fighting 2 rapiers is where it's at :P

Im with you, Two handed fighting rogues. and Omg if you get and eleventhin blade or a keen blade..... your not only leet. your leeeet. and what makes a scimitar better than a rapier... looks? a rapier weighs less cost less... purtains more to pristige classes.... Slayer... im a fan of the battleaxe but thats a completely ignorent statment thatr scimitars are better than rapiers. YOU HAVE TO BE A DRIZZT DO' URDEN FAN

Longsword :D also with a shield ;)

The Apocalpse.....Words maybe taunting and annoying, thus a blade in one's heart is more painful.

I had 2 main character and my Ranger always fought two handed with a Broad sword in one hand and a short sword in the other. The mage's favourite weapon was Fireball LOL

I always loved inteligent weapons they always made for a fun time in the RPG sense nothing like arguing with your weapon in a city square...people though my character was crazy LOL

Eagerly awaiting D&D Online and Age of Conan.

What in the name of all creation is the affixiation everyone has with playing 2 weapons?  Especially 2 scimitars?!!!  If you read R.A. Salvatore's books, then great, but it doesn't mean you have to mimic everything Drizzt is when making your characters!

May the Gods give me peace!

Btw, my favorite weapon is the BROADSWORD.  Not a skinny little longsword, or an oversized bastard sword, or a dinky curved scimitar.  The Broadsowrd is a meaty blade that chops in a man and does the job right.  The end.

i would have to say that I prefer the dual long swords and then a longbow for backup.  the dms iv played with tend to put monsters out of reach of swords

Dual wield Katanas.

Weapon Master (Kensai) prestige class FTW!

personally, it depends on what I'm playing. Usually I'm a wizard, in which case, I like to have a longsword. just the idea of a mage with a mighty blade, calling forth monsters from the outer planes, and creating flame at a whim is really a picture I'm quite fond of. Yet, if stealth is the fancy I wish to tickle, Kukri and scimitar all the way. I got the size modifier difference to alleviate the penalty of dual wielding, plus, it's just insanely bad ass.

EDIT some grammar problems

Aye as a fellow wizard i would prefer the quarterstaff(staff of power, staff og the magi or some such) but from the list i would prefer the longsword..reminds me of Elminster.

Well Since I made Falcon, my ranger character in 1983 I doubt I copied Drizzt LOL. I Played the same Half-elven Ranager Character from 1983 to 1999 when university ended for me. Why did I chose to duel wield? Becouse every other person in my group that was a fighter type used long sword and shield and I wanted to be different.

RIP Falcon Oaktree Ranger Lord Lvl 55 Master of the Silver Bow. ( Unearthed Arcana Rules for weapon mastery rocked :) )

I have always liked a simple Longsword. Nothing flashy. Oh and a Silver dagger in my belt just in case.

I played a Bard for 4 years and he only had a +2 Longsword....Simple but effective.

War doesn''t determine who is right nor wrong. War determines who is left.

the best weapon of all times if you could get it and live without instantly dying was "Wand of Orcus" killed anything it instantly touched w/o no save. You had to get to Orcus first, but you had to find him in the abyss somewhere and live to use the wand with out touching it.....the next best thing was Maul of the Titans, which I doubt 3rd Edition will ever bring out all the cool weapons and  magic items that 2nd edition had.

I'm still upset that they consider a Bastard Sword a 2 handed weapon when it's consider a 1 and 2 handed weapon. I guess they don't pay much attention to detail....

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did.

I was highly upset when i purchased DDO. I was like WTF?! No polearms...Then I seen no druids and monks and I no half-elves. which made me laugh cause i know some human is banging a elf or a elf is banging a human. DDO reminds me of a Final Fantasy DnD style.
