What about the other settings? Eberron, DragonLance, etc.?

DDO is set in the Eberron setting.

Clasic dnd is cool. But i like to have a campaign setting book handy for the special things they have. More feats, specialty races. Infinitely cooler dieteies, hollow realm(basic dnd) dieties blow. The FR campaign setting has a bunch of cool items. Potion belts for instance that let you use a potion as a free action :D.
That and sometimes its fun to just point a place on the map and have all the setting done for you :P. If you're a DM it allows you to put more effort on the adventure(which really is the main thing isn't it?), instead of having to split your energy between making the setting and surroundings good quality, and designing a believable adventure plot.

Shrouding all the ground around me is this holy crow above me. Black as a hole within a memmory. I stick my hand into the shadow and pull the pieces from the sand to try attempt to reassemble and suggest just who I might have been.

follow the light Valentri...the answers are in the light...

Well I personally loved Kyrnn ( Dragonlance ) but I spent most of my time playing in a basic D and D world then Ravenloft then we escaped into Planescape. But we only used 1st/2ed books and rules. Considering at the time that all we had since I haven't played in 6 years. As both a Dm and a player I found different styles favour different players. As a DM I stuck with the realms since my players tended to hover around Neutral good/Neutral evil. But as a player I'm the guy that annoys other players becouse the white glow hurts there eyes...LG all the way.  Just me...

AD&D 1st edition is my favourite (slightly adjusted rules... a few bits of paper inserted into the old tomes, obvious spell mistakes and level sets altered, some denied by Order of God )

I dug them out from my mum's house a few years ago as I started a game with a new DM. Between us we had 2 copies of every hardback, 6 players handbooks in various states (including old pencil marks lol), a rather rare version of Deitys & Demigods (with the Cthulu stuff) and we both have complete sets of the Imagine magazines issues 1-30. Plus a shed load of figures of course - the box was soo heavy when I dragged it out of the loft!

He's just got hold of the D&D Rules Cyclopedia (all the basic rules in one hb) so we're going to give that a go next with some adjusted modules. I can't wait.
