In every life a little rain shall fall

This debate between my friends is neverending... id like to see what other peoples oppiniones are.

Which do you think comes out on top... wizard... or sorceror.

MY oppinione is that is that they truely have different uses. If im going for a battlemage... i go forwizard... he gets fireball and lightningbnolt much quiker and get powerfull spells sooner. He dosnt need to cast spontaniously cause he knows what he's casting. FIREBALL... MAGICMISSLE... LIGHTNINGBOLT

a Sorceror is better for those weird of spells... dont get me wrong he needs a few combat spells... but he can have all those odd but helpfull spells at the RIGHT time because he can cast spontaniously... your never going to just randomly prepare... lets say a grease spell... cause 1/1000 times you wont need it... but if your a sorceror you dont need to worry about that. You cast w/e odd spell you have whenever you want. So you pick mostly nondamage doing spells like portle, grease, spiderclimb, whisper, ect

Your analysis is a little off.  Ok, it's a LOT off.  You state that for a Battlemage you'd go with a Wiz?!  Are you hoping for a short battle?  The strength of the Wiz doesn't lie in memorizing the spell multiple times.  It lies in the greater selection of spells plus metamagic fetas.  If you want to cast a limited number of spells a lot of times per day ...   What class was that again?  Oh yeah, it's a SORC!!!

I personally like them both but I do not see ANY way you could argue that a Wiz makes a better Battlemage than a Sorc.  BTW, if you go to d20.org they have a very good variant class called the BattleSORC.

Black Gorath Bris''Elfes

Wizard!!!

Sorcerers are for newbies who need to learn to play first...

if you feel the need to argue with this, you are still at the fighter stage...

In the PnP game the sorcerer is broken.
The Wizard is hard to play at lower levels but when you reach Lv. 7 you rule the world ::::02::

"Without knowledge, life is a mere shadow of death." - Tethtoril

The good thing about Wizards is that, though they don't have as much memorization capacity as a Sorcerer, they do offset this disadvantage through scroll scribing. Plus, I prefer the idea of the intelligent and brooding Wizard to the unpredictable Sorcerer.

I like the Sorcerer. I like the flexibility of not preparing spells. Also you can make a really interesting character. Wizards are also cool but I still love the Bard.

I like sorcerer more than wizard - you don't have to prepare spells and you can have more these spells that you really want. I also like sorcerer's characteristics and style more than wizard's. :)

My Aggro brings all the mobs to the yard.

I love my gunslinger (aka Sorc).  Wizards are nice but ba humbug  with having to memorize the spell.  My Sorc does it by pure Charisma. ;)

I like sorcs better since wizards have to spend so much on their spellbooks
