Ubi Soft has announced the development of Shadowbane: The Rise of Chaos. The add-on for the online role-playing game will begin beta testing soon. Ubi Soft expects to release Rise of Chaos this holiday season with new high-level content and a new race called the Nephilim - an malevolent fusion of demon and man. The expansion also provides two new character classes (Doomsayer and Sentinel) and two new disciplines (Darksworn and the Conjurer) as well as an additional character slot and two new macro zones. Shadowbane owners can also expect enhanced environmental graphics.

The Doomsayer is a priest of Chaos whose power comes from the worship of Dark Lords. They're able to use their powers to inflict harm and weaken opponents. Doomsayers also posses a repertoire of debuffs and pet spells. The Sentinels are holy warriors who have devoted their lives to holding Chaos at bay and cleansing the world of its presence. Their powers are a hybrid of the Crusader and the Templar.

Darksworn are underlings dedicated to the service of the Dark Lords. The Conjurer is a pet used to summon Chaotic entities. Current players who purchase the expansion are immediately granted a sixth character slot to use at their discretion.
