Seed has announced a list of additions that are coming to their game, with a brief description of each if you simply follow the appropriate links:

Today we have updated our road map of upcoming game additions:

In-game encyclopedia: An encyclopedia in the shape of tradeable conversation nuggets.

Rumour system: Rumours can be traded betweeen players and spread by NPC's.

Favour Economy: Build up an amount of favours owed with different NPCs and cash them in.

Reaction to state of environment: NPCs have opinions of how their environment should be. They expect something to be done about it, or will react accordingly.

Moods: NPCs can refuse or allow interaction based on its specific mood, and it can decide to react on being in or being put in a given mood.
