vknid writes: Man this game looks cool. There are so many aspects that sound good when its told to you. I really hope it holds up to that on and after release day. One thing that kind of makes me cringe is the Ethical Parables. Sounds awesome for a single player game, but I don't know how it will fair in an MMO. Think about it.. a group of buddies want to do some missions together but, Buddy A and B can't kill Z faction because their friendly, but Buddy C needs to kill Z faction. So Buddy C has to leave the group and solo it. *crys* Wed Sep 05 2007 6:20PM Report
Nineven writes: BF2 isn't an RPG you noob. This game has been an idea for Richard Garriot since 1999. It's good to finally see it turn into something. In this day and age though, it's going to have to be a really, really good game to survive the MMORPG Wars. Wed Sep 05 2007 7:14PM Report

neoncoyote writes: Dont listen to the negative pinheads. I am in beta and I have played for more than 5 mins like most of the negative beta reviews. I have also been in closed beta for over 11 other comercial mmos. This game rocks. Yes it is not fully polished, yes on launch the game like all mmos will grow and change. I am a person that LOATHS FPS games. There is nothing I hate more... and while i am under NDA and cant say much I will say this game is a blast! Close enough to FPS that FPS fans (with open minds) Will enjoy but enough MMO that a FPS game Loather like myself will enjoy. This is NOT a FPS. If you ecpect it to be a FPS you will be unhappy. The most enjoyable part of this game for me is the Large AI combat and how AI can win and loose bases and control points. It's just a blast. Sometimes I go to the fronts and dont care about exp or loot but just have a blast. I preordered the Collectors edition and I look forward to it's launch. (ps. I was in Planetside Beta as well... for those who say it is just like it, well other than guns and armor, there is no real similarity... dont be fooled ;) Thu Sep 06 2007 2:04PM Report
Kordesh writes: Actually neon, I don't think it will suck, i've been in the beta for a bit now, but honestly, the only people who I could see finding the game terribly interesting are people who are interested in FPS games, because that's just about all it is. There are no objectives, the logos are just handed to you, and its run and gun all the way. I've had very high hopes. Trust me, I want this to work out, and I think if they listened to the community a bit more and gave the game more time it would be great. Personally though, I don't have the time or money to wait for the game to be interesting. I'm giving it another two weeks to see if I can try to "find the magic" again, but honestly, I think I'm looking for something that isn't there /= Thu Sep 06 2007 3:16PM Report

Sovren1 writes: Well, whether it is good or it isn't won't rear it's head till release. However well it does, I am glad to see that this game is trying to present an alternative to the stale "whack a mole" type of MMO that doesn't rely on fantasy or poor AI, and the japanese hand fan type of grouping. What I mean by that is having a tank at the focal point with all his buddies spread out behind him. Takes absolutely no skill to play that way. Not only are games like that inbalanced for the most part, they are also predictable. Thu Sep 06 2007 6:39PM Report
Flummoxed writes: yow, the walkthru of the reactor mission looked very complex. The ethical parables are the most interesting aspect for me, i wonder what kind of consequence there is/will be for making various choices of who to support. And do those consequences affect the gameworld as a whole for everyone, or are they just local to you? Would be great if the player's choices affected things like direction of the story arc globally. Alienovrlord writes: I used to follow this game. Then I started to hear ideas like this one: Character administrative services that can become unavailable based on the actions of NPCS. It's statements like this from MMORPG developers who are supposed to be making a GAME that make me go - WTF? Yeah, sounds great on paper. Just like perma-death and all the other game mechanics so full of holes anyone could drive a truck through them. But who knows, maybe Garriott can make it work. We'll all see in a month. warlord2020 writes: Looks like the demo player was overpowered for the zones he was in. But with a group of friends and a more balanced battlefield, this game looks like a promising change. Sat Sep 08 2007 2:34PM Report
Mr.Miffo writes: I've read a few posts about this game, and I notice people sais alot of shit without knowing a shit. I've been playing the beta now for a few weeks and got to lvl 27 befour character whipe. I noticed someone saying "you get the logos handed to you" you clearly havn't played thorugh the n00b area. The game looks good and they are doing a hell of a good job on the bug front. Though in my opinion it's a bit easy and I still wonder if it'll be as easy in high end and what will be there. I'm still not sure if I'll pree order. I think it will last a while, though how long depends on the high end. It's a fun game to just grab and blast some, but even that gets kind of boring. Im not sure if it can compete with the more popular MMOs or online FPS (no it's not an FPS but it's made to atract players from that group of gamers), it might crash like Auto Assult, but I belive that this game can get far if they make it a bit harder and it has a good endgame. And no it doesn't suck but it doesn't rock eather, yet. Wed Sep 12 2007 2:36PM Report
Elikal writes: Oh my dear Lord British... you went quite astray. Why Mr Garriot didnt stick to real RPGs is beyond me. I wondered this all the way he worked on TR. And as they say, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it IS a FPS. Well, it sure will have its audience, but my bet is, it will have many players in Asia and only a very, very small market in the west. Many ppl who love FPS will just play Halflife 2 and such things online. It was one of the great things SOE once had to learn when they made their NGE, that RPG players love their pseudo-turn based combat, and I take any bet VERY few playing classic MMOs like WOW, EQ2 or what will really play this game, for said reason. Sure, the details sound good, but still the core game is duck and cover, a FPS, no matter how many stoies and ethical dilemmas you put in. I just dont see thing anywhere but a tiny niche in the western market. Lord British, pls go back to make real RPGs or MMORPS and not Onoine FPS shooters! Sat Sep 15 2007 12:16PM Report
SaitanMar writes: I like the skill system and class system, I hate being put into a class at the start of the game and I like choosing as I develop but can always change! like SWG and EVE had! Wed Nov 07 2007 12:06PM Report
Runefruit10 writes: This game has good ideas. But this is why Darkfall has the best ideas. Darkfall has FPS and all that stuff but it has one more very important thing that Tabula Rasa does not. FREEDOM. This just seems like a better version of Halo to me. No freedom at all. Play through a mission and you have to go to the next. This is why the features in Darkfall are better. I don't see Tabula Rasa having anything to do with freedom. Sat Nov 24 2007 5:01PM Report
shadowsoal writes: No FREEDOM...Right.... So... Constant choices of missions which dictate the road you go down when you choose them. The ability to go back on your class at ANY time and choose a different class in order to experience the entire games content more quickly and easily, aswell as giving you the ability to maybe provide a unit that your group may not have and need. Oh...and the thing that actually defines this game as something different and is said at LEAST 3 times in the walkthrough....Dynamic battle fields with CONSTANTLY changing territory control... Right... No freedom.. ....Idiot! Thu Dec 06 2007 12:37PM Report
mishydishy writes: LOL So you say it's like an FPS, eh? Well, let's see what makes an FPS an FPS: First-person view, and you are a shooter. Tabula Rasa only has one of those. TR, in very general terms, is an TPS-RPG, not an FPS. Sat Jan 19 2008 4:28AM Report
Vikstar writes: mishydishy, this is an FPS because you are playing the game from the point of view of a single character, even if the camera isn't located inside its head. A third person game is something like command&conquer, where you don't play from the perspective of a single unit but command whole groups of units. TR is an FPS MMO with a third person camera view.
