Wow made it to level 29.9999 (haha), just cloned myself and getting ready to make a decesion on the Soldier line (Grenadier or Guardian)?

Hows is the Grenadier?

How is the Guardian?

And what kind of spec are you using to level to 50?

Isnt that the point of cloning so you can play both?

My understanding - Guardian is for people who like to be the tank, draw the heat and get up close and personal.

If you want a flamethrower - grenadier all the way.

Let us know which one ya like best. I'm getting close to the same decision.  Think I'm going for the flame thrower 1st .

I also want to try both.  I've always liked tanks but something tells me that the tank role won't be set in concrete with this game.  I'm compelled to try the Guardian just because staff combat (with range) is a concept I find intruiging.  So far my main goal has been to get to Grenadier but the ammo costs make me cringe.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Guardian is a paladin of sorts. They can use shields and are up close with staffs.

Grenadiers are explosive experts, blowing crap out of aliens from afar and dealing heavy damage.

Uh... you cloned

Do both.  It's really a decision onlly you can make.  They play differently.  Figure out which you enjoy.

Both sound very appealing - go for both I say...why not!

I cloned and have both, the thing that really pissed me off about the guardian is that in a way it still plays like ranged weapon class.

The Grenadier class and Propellant guns (flamethrowers) are a lot of fun to play. Plant yourself in a spot and let er rip with a AOE-cone spray of hot flaming death. You really do feel a little on the invincible side of things with this class. Get a specialist to keep your armor up and you can hold a base entrance down.

I tried out the Grenadier but didnt want to waste all that money to have enough ammo for it. But its up to which one you like, Grenadier: full of destruction and mayhem, or the Guardian: the tank of the game that has good team abilitys. (I picked Guardian cause by the time I got to lvl 30 I was fed up with buying ammo all the time for my weapons)
