has anyone seen the requirements lately...no one with a slow computer will be able to play it....i personally have a good puter and slow puter but it also requires a broadband connection many people that play mmo's run off of a dial up connection including me so hopefully the 2.53 ghz processor, the graphics card requirements and the broadband connection requirement will be changed

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you...

The processor should be fine, but I would DEFINITELY recommend that you upgrade to broadband.

Its not that bad

You don't have much hope of playing many multiplayer games then.  Most (all?) MMO's currently being developed will require a broadband connection to play well.  And many currently out such as wow are attrocious to play on dialup, I had enough trouble playing it with broadband.

Now I understand PC System Requirements are something game devs have to watch out for. Everyone can't keep spending large amounts of money upgrading their system to the top-of-the-line. I haven't seen Tabula Rasa's system requirements so i'm not commenting on it (and I know for sure i won't be able to play it because the computer i have now can barely play singleplayer games that came out a year ago, several cannot be loaded at all). My computer is over 3.5 years old btw, and it wasn't top-of-the-line back then either, though it was on the upper end. I certainly would not expect any game developer to take my computer into consideration (3-year-old technology, tops, imo...and mine is atleast 4-4.5 year old technology.

However, seriously think about connection requirements. I believe the first 56k modem came out in 1996 (i could be wrong, it could have been earlier, though not later). That was 11 YEARS AGO...over a DECADE. Affordable consumer broadband (atleast 1.5mbps) came out in 2000...SEVEN years ago. Exactly how long do you wait for everyone to catch up? What about the people with Windows 1.0 computers? Should we even require XP? No gaming company in their right mind is going to put severe restrictions on the gameplay of their game in order to cater to a decade old technology for an extreme minority of gamers that are either poor or still do not have broadband available in their area. I had Roadrunner Cable as my first broadband in 2000, I then moved to an area without broadband and it took five years to get broadband again (up til then i was stuck on dial-up...ISDN, which is only slightly faster than dial-up, wasn't even available here).

There were a few online games that I could not play on a dial-up conneciton due to the extreme lag of being on dial-up. But did I whine about it? No. I didn't want online gaming to halt their progress (which unfortunately still has been little all this time, in gameplay terms, though not technologically), I wanted them to keep moving on so once I did get broadband again, there would be better games. And furthermore, I knew it would not be right for gaming devs to completely halt technologically for a small minority of gamers that did not have broadband.

Now i have the opposite problem...I have a 3.5 year old computer with 4-4.5 year old technology in it, and I have plenty of broadband but not a good PC to put it to use in gaming. I'm just going to wait til I can afford a good PC, not ask for gaming devs to stop progressing just because of me.

And I am still waiting for a game that is even worth a good PC too :) Tabula Rasa won't be it btw.

I have a laptop that has an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300 with a speed of 2 GHz. Can the two cores work together in order to at least meet the minimum requirement of 2.5 GHz for Tabula Rasa or will I not be able to play this game even though I have a Geforce 8400M GT and the recommended 2 GB of system RAM in the laptop?

The system req aren't that bad. I have a 4 year old system and it runs fine.

Newer games = better graphics etc. Upgrade your computers already its 2007 for crying out loud, eat one less Big Mac or a few less Cokes and even the people with a strict budget can upgrade their systems. Stop whining on how a couple year old system can't run the cutting edge newest programs on max settings, its a cycle.

I dont think speed is measured the same between the single core and Core 2 duo processors. You should be fine.

I thought Australia was the only country that still had dial up. Seriously - I dont think dial up will cut it any more for MMORPGs.

How do you even manage to download a patch?

And I geuss no point applying for closed beta as the download would take a really really long time.

You'd be correct there. His C2D mobile chip would be the rough equivalent of a ~3.2GHz Pentium 4, due to it's much higher-performing architecture.

I have seen TR run perfectly on an Athlon x2 3800 (at the stock 2.0ghz speed), radeon x1900, 2gb memory with all settings max or close to it, in windowed mode with itunes playing music as well.  Have no fear, you won't need an uber system to run it.
