They are getting out from under a failure in TR. Look at the costs and then look at the number of people playing TR had no future and was a disaster financially. NCSoft cancelling a bad game does not make them a bad company. |

Yeah, everyone misses.
This game wasn't all that bad. I liken it to AoC. Good gameplay but not enough content and not enough polish. MMOs are a cruel industry, you really have to get a strong player base or the game feels empty and those who would otherwise keep playing, just leave... |

I actually loved TR. It was a good game. I was pretty sad when they canceled it. |

Necro thread ftl. This game has been gone for quite a while now. I don't think anymore can be said. "IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one." |

If the game was so good why did it fail so fast? |

One, it was rather poorly managed. Two, its staff resources kept getting cut by NCsoft. Three, it had elements that made it fun, but its end game was almost entirely lacking. Not to mention that RG was splitting his attention between the game and his trip to space. Over all, I'd like to see it come back and get done properly this time. But thats very doubtful, given NCsofts past record. |

Considering he chose a thread in which only 2 people's comments could be considered negative he appears to have comprehension issues. |

Nah, just wanted to confirm the trollish nature of the haters here. Obviously, they have any activity on this board subscribed so that they can come back and spew and spew some more bile over a dead game. Too funny. |

It had a few elements that were good and all ran out by level 30. The game past there seemed like it was planned and designed on a drunken weekend just to make deadline. The wat as backstory failed since nothing you did had any effect on the war or the enemies ability to fight. It was static and boring considering it was the fight for mankinds supposed survival. The bane sucked as an enemy.
TR was not that good overall and my question was sarcastic to begin with. |

There are reasons they ax MMOS. NCSoft is not a charity, those games were finacial failures. TR was the most expensive MMO ever made when it launched and it never was close to making money.
I did some math at one point using NCSoft published numbers for population and income and the estimate was TR would break even on money spent to launch the game and run it the first year by 2028, if they stopped spending any money that day. They spent so much that they would have needed 20 years at 40K subs to break even again. Not to mention the money spent in those 20 years.
Lets not blame NCSoft for cutting their losses. They are out to make money not donate to the few left playing those disasters. The game was designed poorly, run like a hobby and marketed as things it never was. The game could have been a lot of fun if RG had made a serious commitment to it. It failed on many levels. I would love a good game with many of the things TR had, but they have to be done right. |

There was like 4 posts in a year and he comes back and acts like there was 20 pages of hate. Truth is TR died and no one really cared. He is imagining a lot more hate because even hate would be attention and TR has had no attention since the day they announced the servers would close. It went out with a wimper. Sadly that is what happens to games that are poorly designed, launched and run. Let TR be a lesson learned for the future. |

It had a decent design, a pretty good launch, but the running of said game was only slightly better than it's predecessor Auto Assault. |

Or Dungeon Runners for that matter. That makes three western games that NCsoft has axed. |

yep and suddenly they expect players to flock to GW2 or AION NCSoft lost its direction a long time ago after making GW |

NCSoft did not make Guild Wars. They made Aion. Get you facts right. NCSoft only publishes Guild Wars. We know from the first and under the direction of Arenanet the real developers of Guild Wars, that Guild Wars 2 should be great. |
