Tabula Rasa was a sci-fi MMORPG from Destination Games and NCSoft designed in collaboration with Richard Garriott as well as other creators of Ultima Online. Taking place mainly on two distant planets, it featured humanity's stand against an alien race, the Bane. The game blended third person shooter type gameplay with more traditional RPG elements, including a multi-pronged skill tree and PvP options. Tabula Rasa went free to play for a short period before closing in February of 2009.

A new film biography centered around Richard "Lord British" Garriott has been released. The film is called "Man on a Mission: Richard Garriott's Road to the Stars" and centers around Garriott's dream to go to space which he ultimately did in 2008.

The lawsuit between publisher NCSoft and Richard "Lord British" Garriott has finally been settled. Garriott has been awarded $28 million by a Texas jury. The suit came about after Garriott, according to NCSoft, left the company amicably in 2008. Garriott has always contended that he was fired and forced to sell his 40,000 shares of stock quickly resulting in a profit loss.
NCsoft has posted the patch notes for Deployment 16, which adds a number of new mechs, and expanded training ground, updated building appearance and more to Tabula Rasa.
